Jim Cornette Calls Tony Khan A ‘Make-A-Wish Kid’ – During his post Double or Nothing media scrum, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan addressed his recent promo where he took shots at WWE President & Chief Revenue Officer Nick Khan about WWE and NJPW having talks on a possible relationship. Khan explains why he chose to cut the promo.
“I talked to New Japan, and I asked them if they thought it would be a good idea for a good promo and they thought it was great,” Khan revealed. “I thought it would be a good promo, and so it made sense. We have a lot of stuff going with New Japan, and everyone’s welcome to talk to each other in the wrestling business, but we’ve done some great stuff with New Japan over these last few weeks. And I think we’re going to do some great things moving forward, and I’m excited it.”
The promo got a lot of attention from various sources. However, it seems a pro wrestling legend didn’t seem to think much of Tony Khan’s promo. Jim Cornette took to Twitter and blasted Tony Khan, as he compared Tony Khan’s promo to a “Make-A-Wish kid”.
I think @tonyschiavone24 and the rest of the @AEW staff should be commended for letting fans do promos with an on-air talent……oh, wait, this is actually a REAL promo? I thought it was a Make-A-Wish kid talking about the bouts between his action figures.
