WrestleMania 37 Night 1 Results

Vince McMahon comes out with the entire roster on the stage.  Vince says that over the last year, the WWE Superstars performed tirelessly for you but they were missing something, the fans of the WE Universe.  As we emerge from this pandemic, we want to say thank you and to welcome you to Wrestlemania.

We go to a quick video and come back to singer Bebe Rexha being introduced. She sings “America The Beautiful” as the roster looks on from the stage, including Jinder Mahal. Otis can be seen dancing. We get a flyover at Raymond James Stadium as Rexha and her guitarist finish up. The crowd pops as we go to a video package to kick off the show.

Michael Cole mentions that there is currently a weather delay due to some lightning in the area.

— We go to Sarah Schreiber in the back with Shane McMahon.   She mentions seeing the fans in the crowd.  Shane says it was an energy booster and he is going to take out Braun Strowman.  Sarah asks Shane what is his problem and Shane says he doesn’t have a problem with him.  He is poking fun at him.  Sarah asks if Shane was bullying him.  Shane says a steel cage match isn’t stupid because it limits him a little.  Shane says he has a few surprises for the match.

Bobby Lashley and MVP interrupt and Porter says the time for talking is done.  This is Wrestlemania and this is the crowning moment of the All Mighty Era.  Words cannot convey what is going through Bobby’s head right now.  The only language Bobby can use now is the language of violence.  The title changes you and makes you a different person.  Porter says he told Drew it is all over at Wrestlemania.  He would lose his dignity, he would lose consciousness, and he would lose the match.

Drew McIntyre shows up and Porter has to stand between them.  Drew tells him to tell him to his face. Drew says mother nature can’t save your ass.  I will do it back here.  Get a referee and I will take back the title.  Bobby wants to knock his ass out. Officials show up and separate them. Drew tells Lashley to keep the energy up.

Drew is asked where is his head.  Drew says he doesn’t want to have his back to Lashley.  He says he will not let it get to him after seeing the fans.  Drew says last year at the Performance Center, he won the title.  He lost the title and won it back in the Thunderdome.  He is in the first match back in front of a crowd and the weather stops them.  He will not let MVP and Lashley ruin this.  This match will happen tonight.

— We go to Kayla, Peter, and JBL.  John says he has been all over the world and has been to all types of championships.  He never felt what he felt when this show started.  After a year of being locked down and it is here. Peter says he may have to change his pick after seeing Drew.

— Kevin Patrick is in the back with The New Day.  Xavier says people asked if they were excited to be at Wrestlemania but until you see it you cannot realize.  Kofi says they like to fight the best and that is why they wanted to face AJ and Omos.  Woods says they know that there are people who are huge and intimidating that they will face.  They signed up for this.  They accepted this match because they beat every other team.  This is an example of how good The New Day is.

Big E shows up and he is here to do work on Night Two. Big E says you are going to see what these two men are going to do and why they are one of the best tag teams on God’s Green Earth.  You will see two men at their very best.  Consider yourself blessed.

— Michael brings up that this is the first rain delay in Wrestlemania history. It’s WrestleRainia…

— Sarah is in the back with Braun Strowman.  Braun says he is ready to get out there.  He is doing this for everyone who has been bullied.  He is ready to do this.  Shane made his bed and I will make him lay in it.  I will beat him within an inch of his life.  She asks if Shane made a mistake to get this match in a steel cage.  Braun says he will prove that bullies do not win in life.

— Kayla brings up Vince’s speech at the start of the show.  Kevin Patrick is with Kevin Owens..  He asks Owens about his match.

— In the back, Kevin Owens says he met Sami Zayn in December 2002 and they were both passionate about this business.  They wrestled all over the world.  They wrestled in front of 23 people and in front of thousands of people.  I can go on and on.  We have done this hundreds of times.  Through those 20 years, no two people were looked down and talked down to by industry experts than them.  Tomorrow night they get to do it one on one at Wrestlemania.  It has never been this big and it has never been this important.  The Sami Zayn you see is not the Sami Zayn he has known.  In the end, no matter what people say or the obstacles they had to get through, it is Wrestlemania and Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.  He will stun some sense into Sami and if Logan Paul wants to get involved, he will be there.

— We go to Joe and Cole in their ponchos and they tell us things will start soon.

— Sarah Schreiber is with Bianca Belair.  Sarah asks where Bianca is emotionally.  Bianca says she is nervous and that means she cares.  She has prepared for this.  This is Wrestlemania.  You have to prepare for this.  I am getting in the ring with Sasha Banks.  Sasha calls herself the best and Bianca says she does not run from competition. I will lay it all out there.  The best thing is the fans and they are back.  This is more than about me or Sasha, it is about the fans.

— Kevin Patrick is with Seth Rollins.  Seth calls Kevin “Mike” and welcomes him to his first Wrestlemania.  He says he is excited for the chaos.  Kevin asks about Cesaro.  Seth tells “Mike” they don’t have to go there and you have to bring up Cesaro and the swing and the disrespect.  Seth says he wanted to address that for a while.  Week after week, Seth says he has been disrespected and he does not know why.  Maybe he is using Seth’s superstardom to springboard him to the next level.  When the storms clear, the sun will shine bright and the stars will shine down and Seth will be the new Mr. Wrestlemania when he trounces Cesaro.

— Sarah is with Miz and John Morrison.  Morrison says they don’t need luck because they have skill.  You can tell a lot about a man by who you hang out with and that is why you are scumbags.  Miz says the fun and games are over.  This isn’t the Super Bowl, the Grammys, or SNL.  This is the greatest spectacle in entertainment.  We are the greatest tag team of the 21st Century.

— Fans are back in the stadium and apparently the show can begin!

— We’re live from Raymond James Stadium as the announcers welcome Titus O’Neal and Hulk Hogan. Titus welcomes everyone to Tampa and Wrestlemania.  Titus says after one year, one month, and one day, we are back in business.  Hogan says they are going to make history tonight and tomorrow. Hogan has just one question to ask Titus… Titus asks what we’re going to do when Titus Worldwide… Hogan chimes in and ask what we’re going to do when The Hulkamaniacs… they join each other in asking what we’re gonna do when they run wild for two nights of WrestleMania.
