Goldberg Teases Wrestling Again

Goldberg Teases Wrestling Again

Goldberg recently did an interview with Sports Illustrated to promote his appearance on ABC’s Schooled show this week.

Dolph Ziggler lost to Goldberg in quick fashion at the WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view event in Toronto, Ontario at the Scotiabank Arena in August. This marked Goldberg’s latest match under the WWE banner.

This contest came after he made his return when he wrestled The Undertaker earlier this year at the Super ShowDown event in the country.

During the interview, he was asked about his future with WWE and wrestling Ziggler. According to the legendary pro wrestling, this match wasn’t his farewell performance and that he thinks he will be back for another match.

“I am greatly appreciative of what he did for me, and for his professionalism,” said Goldberg. “I can’t say thank you enough. I’m never happy with any of my performances, and I’d lost my mojo, I felt like,” said Goldberg. “But the reality is, the older you get, the more you’re going to lose your mojo because you can’t do it like you used to.”

“It’s by no means my farewell performance, nor was it my best performance, but you have to be realistic and take all things into consideration,” said Goldberg. “It’s a very good possibility I’ll be back, but you don’t know it until it’s done.”

Goldberg pointed out that remaining in great shape and being able to portray his character with his look is something that fans forget when it comes to him wrestling.

“That gets lost in the shuffle, but it’s actually the biggest factor,” said Goldberg. “I don’t know of a power wrestler that’s been able to come back after a 12-year hiatus and still be that guy. I had a really tough time keeping weight on when I was that guy, so now it’s exponentially harder. So I just need to reinvent myself. Instead of being 280 pounds with veins on my traps, I can be 260 with veins on my traps.”

According to a press release issued last week, he will make his debut on the ABC-TV hit comedy Schooled, reprising the role of Coach Nick Mellor, whom he portrayed on The Goldbergs last season, on Wednesday, November 20 at 8:30 p.m. on ABC-TV. In the episode entitled “Friendsgiving,” Goldberg participates in the school’s alumni football game.
