MJF – Adam Cole Return at AEW WrestleDream – At AEW WrestleDream, Jack Perry successfully retained his AEW TNT Championship by defeating Katsuyori Shibata. The closing moments saw Shibata attempting to lock Perry in a rear naked choke, but Perry managed to turn the tide by pinning Shibata while still trapped in the hold.
Following the match, Perry continued his assault on Shibata until Daniel Garcia rushed in to make the save. Before the situation could escalate further, Perry retreated from the ring. This set the stage for AEW World Champion MJF to make his way to the ring, leading to a tense staredown between MJF and Garcia.
As they faced off, Perry blindsided Garcia from behind, leaving him vulnerable. MJF took advantage, launching his own attack. Seizing the opportunity, MJF grabbed a microphone and reminded everyone of his prior victory over Garcia at AEW All Out. He went on to boast about his post-All Out success, claiming to have made “several movies and several millions.” He also mocked the notion of a “bidding war,” comparing it to the Seattle Supersonics.
MJF then revealed he had retrieved his Dynamite Diamond ring from a pawn shop in Buffalo and appeared ready to humiliate Garcia. Just as the situation was about to escalate, Adam Cole’s music hit, interrupting MJF. MJF quickly made his exit into the stands as Cole entered the ring. After the dust settled, Cole helped Garcia to his feet, receiving a positive crowd reaction.
This marked MJF’s first appearance since being sidelined by a piledriver from Garcia at AEW All Out. MJF had been stretchered out of the arena following that brutal encounter. Adam Cole, meanwhile, had been recovering from an ankle injury sustained at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam in 2023, making sporadic appearances. His return at WrestleDream continues to fuel the drama surrounding MJF and Garcia.
