In a follow-up to a story from yesterday, Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio confirmed that Finn Balor will be taking some time off beginning after SummerSlam.
Balor’s request for a “sabbatical” is not hinged on any sort of unhappiness but rather it seems like he wants a rest.
WWE agreed to the leave of absence as long as Finn Balor committed to working through SummerSlam, where he is expected to put over Bray Wyatt. As noted, WWE will use the match against Wyatt to essentially write Balor out of television.
It was re-iterated that there is no question of Balor leaving WWE.
