NXT TakeOver XXV Results – June 1, 2019

NXT TakeOver XXV Results - June 1, 2019

Your host for the Pre-Show is Charly Caruso and she is joined by Sam Roberts and Pat McAfee.

We talk about the NXT Women’s Championship with a video package.

Charly asks about whether Shayna is dealing with something she has not seen before in Io. Sam says Shayna might be the most dominant champion in NXT history but Io is prepared and may be more prepared than any opponent. Pat says this is a legacy match where the unstoppable force is facing the best women’s wrestler from Japan. Pat says you don’t know how to stop Shayna.

Sam says that we don’t know what Io will be able to do without Kairi Sane. Can Io do it on her own?

We are back with discussion about the NXT Tag Title Ladder Match. Sam says we will see people who will try to shine tonight. This night has the ability to have Undisputed written all over it. Sam says he is looking at the Street Profits. They have been in NXT for a while and they have not had many chances. Pat talks about the Forgotten Sons and he says they will not be forgotten any more.

We take a look at the North American Championship Match.

Charly says this is a match featuring the past versus the future and that it can change the landscape of Takeover. Sam says that Tyler’s best work happened in NXT, but it means he accomplished nothing on the main roster. NXT has become bigger and tougher since Tyler left and he does not think Tyler can hang in the new NXT. Pat says he agrees with Sam. NXT has gotten better and better. Is Tyler Breeze able to live up to Velveteen Dream? Sam says Tyler has gotten worse since NXT has gotten better.

We have a video package for the NXT Men’s Championship Match between Johnny Gargano and Adam Cole.

We see The Undisputed Era arrive at the arena in the Undisputed Jeep. We also see Johnny Gargano arrive at the arena after The Undisputed Era and he picks up the keys to the jeep after they were thrown down by Kyle.

Tommaso Ciampa has joined the panel to discuss the Men’s Championship Match.

Ciampa waves to the crowd and then he gets on the table and he says this is his house.

Ciampa is asked how he is doing. He says he is half blackheart and half wolverine. He says he is fully cleared for non contact activity. He is on his way back and Ciampa tells Goldie he is coming home soon.

Ciampa says if anyone is going to hold on to Goldie while he is on the mend, it is Johnny. He deserves it. Johnny changes when Takeover comes around. Ciampa says he will have his eyes on that match. It takes a special man to get to the top, but it takes a different man to stay on top. Ciampa says Gargano did not focus after he won the North American title. Johnny did things that he would not have done after Johnny won the NXT Championship.

Ciampa says Takeover New York was Johnny’s night. He worked for it and he earned it. Ciampa does not appreciate Sam suggesting that he cannot beat Adam Cole. When he is ready to come back, he will be the champion. Caruso signs off and that’s it for the pre-show.
