Dean Ambrose Advertised With The Shield, The New Day Set For WWE Fastlane (Video), 205 Live Tournament Continues (Brackets)

WWE The Shield

– The tournament to crown a new #1 contender for WWE Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy and his WrestleMania 35 match continued on this week’s WWE 205 Live episode from Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Oney Lorcan defeated Humberto Carrillo to advance and Cedric Alexander defeated Akira Tozawa to advance. The tournament semi-finals will begin next Tuesday night with Lorcan vs. Alexander and Tony Nese vs. Gulak. The finals will be Lorcan or Alexander vs. Nese or Gulak with the winner facing Murphy at the biggest show of the year.

– The New Day’s Big E, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston did not appear on tonight’s WWE SmackDown because they have been on a promotional tour of India. They did appear in this video from India and reveal that they will be appearing at Sunday’s WWE Fastlane pay-per-view.

Original Fastlane plans had Kofi challenging WWE Champion Daniel Bryan until Vince McMahon brought back Kevin Owens to replace Kofi. It will be interesting to see if they get involved in the Owens vs. Bryan match on Sunday.

– The Shield (Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins) vs. Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin is being advertised for the April 22 WWE RAW from the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, likely as the dark main event. This same match will take place at Sunday’s WWE Fastlane pay-per-view, indicating The Shield’s reunion will not be a “one night only” deal.

This also means that one of Ambrose’s last matches for WWE will be with The Shield, unless he chooses to sign a new contract when his current deal expires. As noted before, word going around this week’s RAW was that Ambrose is still leaving. The April 29 RAW from the Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY is the last RAW that the WWE website has Ambrose listed for.
