Jeff Jarrett has officially joined the WWE Creative team, according to a new report by PWInsider.com.
Jarrett was first brought back to WWE this year in a producer’s role, but now he will be in a full-time executive level role in the company. It was said Jarrett was involved in production meetings at WWE television tapings last week, and prepped for his new role by spending several days at WWE headquarters in Stamford, CT.
This is Vince McMahon’s latest move in an effort to shake things up to get ratings up in time for the fall when the new FOX deal kicks in for SmackDown Live in October. WWE’s move to FOX could be short-term if ratings don’t get above a certain level and company executives are fully aware that changes need to be made to get fans back and to keep FOX happy.
The doors began to open for Jarrett last year when he was inducted into the Hall Of Fame and he was brought in as a surprise entrant for the 2019 Royal Rumble.
In recent weeks, Jarrett has been invited to attend production meetings and he was at WWE headquarters last week ahead of being given his new role on the creative team.
Things have come full circle because many in the business never considered the possibility of Jarrett and Vince McMahon working together again after Jarrett left the company in 1999 to go to WCW. This is a classic case of “never say never” in the wrestling business.
Bruce Prichard recently returned to the company. The initial reports stated that he was also working on the creative team but that was overblown. For now, Prichard is working as a consultant.
