WWE Splicing In Old Crowd Footage On Their Shows

WWE Splicing In Old Crowd Footage On Their Shows – A few fans watching last night’s WWE WrestleMania Backlash may have noticed that the company is now splicing in old footage at times during video packages.

It was especially notable during the video package for Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss. At one point, you could see WWE superfan known as “Brock Lesnar Guy” shown. The footage used was actually from 2012 when John Cena returned to Raw as the Dr. of Thuganomics during his feud with The Rock.

This isn’t a new thing. In fact, on the recent WWE Evil show about Stephanie McMahon, they inserted crowd shots from the Eddie Guerrero tribute show to make it look like fans were reacting to a 1999 segment with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

Similar to what TV sitcoms do, WWE has done crowd sweetening for decades dating back to the syndicated shows in the 1980s and they would sweeten the crowd noise for the home video releases of their pay-per-view events but it looks like they are increasing the use of old footage to add an extra feeling of crowd excitement to their current programming.
