Back in September, after reaching a partnership with British broadcaster ITV, Tony Khan revealed that a major event hosted in the UK, taking advantage of the “proven live audience” would make all kinds of sense.
Dave Meltzer discussed AEW’s plans to hold a larger event in the United Kingdom. It is apparently something that they are still planning, but no date has been set.
“UK is certainly on the radar. I don’t know of a date. It’s been talked about, but yeah something that’s been talked about is actually running a pay-per-view there. They only have 4 pay-per-views.”
“The goal absolutely is to run a pay-per-view out of the UK because of the feeling that they haven’t had a UK show since years and years ago. WWE should have ran a UK pay-per-view years ago — the time difference is the reason now.”
