Baron Corbin Reveals He Signed Multi-Year WWE Contract, Expects It To Be Last Of His Career

Former WWE United States Champion Baron Corbin has confirmed that he recently signed a new multi-year contract to return to WWE, revealing that he expects this current deal to be the final contract of his professional wrestling career.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with The Sportster, Corbin opened up about returning to the company following his departure in late 2024 and detailed the primary career goal driving his return to WWE programming.

Unfinished Business & World Title Ambitions

Corbin made his surprise return on the July 10 episode of SmackDown, immediately targeting Trick Williams before capturing the United States Championship at SummerSlam in Minneapolis. Corbin emphasized that securing a multi-year deal was about accomplishing the single top-tier achievement that has eluded him throughout his career.

“This is going to be a great run for me. Signing a good multi-year deal, coming back, I’m going to really accomplish something. I have a lot of unfinished goals,” Corbin stated. “I was never a world champion. I need to have that on my list of accomplishments. So coming back and making a statement at SummerSlam in front of all those people, it was unreal.”

“I Never Want To Be A Guy That Hangs On Too Long”

When asked whether he envisions his current contract as the final chapter of his in-ring career, the veteran performer—who turns 42 on September 13—did not hesitate. With a multi-year agreement extending his career into his mid-forties, Corbin made it clear that he prefers to retire while still performing at his absolute peak.

“100%. I think the sky’s the limit. Like I said, I signed a good contract, and my thought process is, this is probably the last one I sign,” Corbin explained. “Realistically, how much time do I have left to do this before I’m a step slower, or I’m not able to bring my A game and the physicality I want?”

Corbin added that maintaining top-level performance across all aspects of his presentation remains his highest priority:

“I never want to be a guy that hangs on too long. I want to be at 110% when I walk through those curtains,” he continued. “That’s the entrance, that’s the in-ring, that’s after, that’s the promo. All of those things, I want it to be 100, 110%.”

Corbin’s five-week reign as United States Champion came to an end at Sunday Night’s Main Event in Atlanta, where Williams regained the title following Corbin’s failed five-minute challenge against hip-hop artist Lil Yachty.
