Pre‑Show Match: Joe Hendry vs. Dominik Mysterio

Dom jumped Hendry right away with a dropkick, then stomped and kicked at him until the referee stepped in. Dom followed with a shoulder tackle, forearms, and an Irish whip — but Hendry exploded out of the corner with a clothesline. Hendry hit an Irish whip, a splash, a chop, and heavy kicks. He followed with a hip toss, then held Dom up for a delayed vertical suplex before dropping him hard.

Hendry clotheslined Dom over the top rope to the floor. He stepped out after him, but Liv Morgan cut him off. JD McDonagh walked straight into a European uppercut from Hendry. As Hendry climbed back into the ring, Dom kicked the ropes, snapping Hendry’s throat across the cable and stopping his momentum.

Joe spilled to the floor and Dom followed with a suicide dive, driving Hendry into the barricade. Dom smashed Joe into the announce table and then the ring steps. With the referee tied up, JD McDonagh flew in with a diving headbutt and a kick to Hendry, giving Dom the opening he wanted. Dom kicked Joe and hit a slingshot senton back inside for a near fall. He kept the pressure on with knees and kicks.

Joe blocked a punch and fired back, hitting a running back elbow. He caught Dom and launched him with a fallaway slam, then popped up and hit the Meme Turn. Joe swung for a discus clothesline, missed, and Dom snapped him down with a jumping neckbreaker for two.

Dom tried a tornado DDT — Joe blocked it and countered with a suplex. Joe hit the discus clothesline this time and scored a near fall. Liv Morgan jumped onto the apron, JD followed, and Joe kicked JD off the edge. Dom capitalized with an enzuigiri, set up the 619, and hit it clean. Dom climbed up top and landed the frog splash for the three.

Winner: Dominik Mysterio

After the match, Liv Morgan grabbed a microphone and stood over Joe Hendry as Dominik celebrated. She said what Dom just did to Joe is exactly what she’s going to do tomorrow to Stephanie Vaquer. Liv told everyone to tune in, because she’ll beat Stephanie again and retain her title again.

WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event opened with a performance by Quavo.

Five Minute Challenge: Lil Yachty vs. Baron Corbin

Corbin told Lil Yachty this was his last chance to back out and invited him to take a hike — Yachty cracked him in the face with the microphone instead. The bell rang and Yachty dove into a quick pin, but Corbin kicked out and yanked him to the floor, smashing him head‑first into the barricade.

Two of Yachty’s friends tried dragging him through the crowd, but Corbin threw both of them back toward ringside. Yachty swung a kendo stick across Corbin’s shoulder and arms after Corbin pulled him out from under the ring, then kept cracking it across Corbin’s body once they were back inside.

Corbin flattened Yachty, and his friends checked on him. Corbin hit one with Deep Six and the other with End of Days. Yachty recovered enough to hit a hurricanrana off the middle rope, then climbed back up and hit a crossbody as the clock crossed the halfway mark. Corbin answered with End of Days and hammered Yachty with punches.

Corbin dragged a table out with thirty seconds left and set it up. He hauled Yachty up the ropes, but Yachty tripped him, sending Corbin crashing groin‑first into the top rope. The five‑minute timer expired — Yachty survived.

Winner: Lil Yachty

After the match, Corbin chokeslammed Yachty through the table. Trick Williams made his way to the ring as Corbin stood over the wreckage.

United States Championship Match: Trick Williams vs. Baron Corbin

Trick blasted Corbin to the floor right away and smashed him into the announce table. He checked on what was left of Lil Yachty, then turned back to Corbin — only for Corbin to deck him and run him shoulder‑first into the ring post. Corbin tossed Yachty over the barricade just to make a point. Trick fired back with a clothesline and threw Corbin into the ring, then hit a flying clothesline, a flapjack, and a backhand before unloading the rhythmic corner kicks. Trick hoisted Corbin up and hit a sit‑out Death Valley Driver for a close count.

Corbin sent Trick to the apron, Trick punched him, but Corbin dropped Trick throat‑first on the top rope. Corbin knocked Trick off the apron and into the announce table, then rammed him into the ring steps. Corbin broke the referee’s count, dragged Trick to another set of steps, and smashed him again. Back inside, Corbin hit a back elbow for two, then hammered Trick with repeated elbows. He locked in a half‑nelson and chin bar. Trick fought out with elbows, but Corbin cut him down with a clothesline. Corbin followed with an elevated clothesline for another near fall.

Baron locked in a reverse chin lock, Trick fought out with elbows, and both men collided with clotheslines at the same time. They traded forearms and punches until Trick caught Corbin with a jumping neckbreaker. Trick went for the cyclone kick, but Corbin blocked it and hit a chokeslam for a near fall.

Trick fired back with a uranage, missed the running knee, and Corbin drilled him with Deep Six for another close count. Corbin missed a corner splash and Trick hit a bulldog, but Corbin sent Trick shoulder‑first into the ring post. Corbin grabbed the title belt — Yachty snatched it away — and Trick blasted Corbin with a cyclone kick for a near fall.

The referee tried sending Yachty to the floor, and Corbin used the distraction to smash Trick with the belt, scoring another near fall. Corbin went for End of Days, Trick slipped out, and cracked him with a jumping knee for the three count.

Winner and NEW United States Champion: Trick Williams

Oba Femi vs. Bron Breakker

They stared each other down, circled, and locked up. Oba shoved Bron into the corner, Bron shoved back, and they tied up again. Bron muscled Oba into the corner and barked in his face. Bron grabbed a side headlock, Oba answered with one of his own. Bron hit the ropes for a shoulder tackle — Oba didn’t budge. Oba hit one — Bron didn’t move. Oba hit a second — Bron spilled to the floor.

Oba blasted Bron from behind on the outside and hammered him with punches. He hot‑shotted Bron on the apron, then slammed him into it. Oba tried to lift Bron, but Bron slipped free and sent Oba into the ring post.

Bron charged at Oba on the apron — Oba chopped him across the chest. Oba clotheslined Bron over the top rope to the floor. Oba adjusted the announce table, but Bron cut him off and slammed Oba’s head into it repeatedly. Bron hit a clothesline off the apron onto the table, then kicked Oba and threw him back inside.

Bron hit the Warp Clothesline and choked Oba in the ropes. He drove shoulders into the corner. Oba answered with an Irish whip and an uppercut. Bron hit a clothesline in the corner, then hoisted Oba and hit a double‑knee gutbuster for a near fall.

Bron locked in a reverse chin lock, transitioned into a sleeper with body scissors. Oba fought, clawed his way to the ropes, and broke the hold. Oba fired elbows, but Bron snapped him over with a German suplex for another near fall.

Bron asked Oba what exactly he was supposed to be “the future” of, and Oba grabbed him by the throat. Bron kicked Oba in the knee and sent him over the top rope to the floor. Bron followed and rammed Oba into the apron. Back inside, Bron clamped on a reverse chin lock. Oba broke free, but Bron drove a knee into his back and jumped on for another sleeper, hanging off Oba’s back. Oba backed into the corner to break the hold.

They traded punches. Oba hit an uppercut, Bron answered with a jumping knee. Bron hit another German suplex — Oba popped right up and blasted him with a clothesline. Oba followed with more clotheslines, then Snake Eyes and a running boot to the head.

Oba hit a series of running uppercuts, then a flying uppercut, and set up a chokeslam — landing it for a near fall. Bron raked the eyes when Oba tried the toss powerbomb. Oba rolled to the floor, Bron set up the Wacky Clothesline, but Oba cut him off with a running shoulder tackle. Oba grabbed Austin Theory at ringside and tossed him onto the announce table, breaking it.

Bron hit a spear, then a WARP spear for a near fall.

Logan Paul’s music hit. Logan came down with brass knuckles, but the referee sent him to the back as Logan dramatically protested. Maxxine appeared on the opposite side and handed Bron a pair of brass knuckles. Bron swung — missed — and Oba hit the toss powerbomb. Oba set up the powerbomb again, but Bronson Reed slid in and smashed Oba with a chair.

Winner: Oba Femi (by disqualification)

Paul Heyman Backstage

Paul Heyman was watching the monitor when Cathy Kelley approached and asked for a comment on everything that just went down. Heyman said he had plenty to say — then his phone rang. He took the call immediately and walked away without another word, leaving Cathy standing there as he disappeared down the hallway.

Tatum Paxley, Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair vs. Jade Cargill, B‑Fab & Michin

Paxley and B‑Fab started things off. They locked up, B‑Fab shoved Paxley in the face, then leveled her and tagged in Michin. Paxley fired back with a back elbow, took both B‑Fab and Michin down, then dropkicked Jade Cargill off the apron when Jade tried stepping in.

Paxley cracked Michin with an enzuigiri, but Jade tripped Paxley on the apron while the referee was distracted. Jade drilled her with a knee strike, letting Michin unload punches on Paxley.

B‑Fab tagged in and she and Michin hit a double suplex. Bliss tagged in and lit up B‑Fab with shoulder tackles, a knee strike, and a shotgun dropkick. Bliss hit Natural Selection and set up Sister Abigail, but Michin distracted her long enough for B‑Fab to hit a spinning flatliner.

Cargill tagged in and chopped Bliss, then Michin tagged back in to keep wearing her down. B‑Fab came in again and drove knees into Bliss’ midsection. Flair and Michin both tagged in — Flair hit a top‑rope crossbody, booted Jade off the apron, then yanked Michin off the ropes. Jade made a blind tag and hit an off‑the‑shoulder spinning sit‑out powerbomb for a near fall, broken up by Paxley.

B‑Fab threw Paxley out of the ring. Flair rolled up Jade for two, then climbed up and hit a moonsault on both Jade and Michin. She covered Jade — Jade kicked out.

Bliss ran the ropes, but B‑Fab tripped her from the outside and sent her shoulder‑first into the steps. Flair and Paxley tried to lock in dual Figure Eight leg locks on Michin and Jade, but both women fought them off. Jade then hit Jaded on Flair and pinned her.

Winners: Jade Cargill, B‑Fab & Michin

Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton

Randy tried to jump Cody from behind, but Cody spotted him before he could strike. Cody slid to the floor and immediately sent Randy into the apron, hammering him with punches. Randy kicked Cody away, but Cody fired back and launched Randy into the announce table. Cody then hurled Randy over the barricade and into the crowd.

Cody pounded Randy with forearms to the back and more punches. Randy caught Cody with a kick, but Cody grabbed a trash can and smashed Randy with it several times. Cody kept swinging, then paused as if considering “recycling” Randy with it. Randy recovered enough to jab Cody in the eyes, then returned the favor by smashing Cody with the trash can repeatedly. Randy followed with a European uppercut as the fight kept spilling deeper into the crowd.

Randy and Cody traded more punches as they fought their way back toward ringside. Cody rocked Randy again and they spilled back over the barricade. Cody kicked Randy, but Randy whipped Cody hard into the ring steps. Randy then noticed Cody’s family at ringside — Brandi had words for him — and both men finally rolled into the ring, prompting the referee to officially start the match.

Cody hit a Cody Cutter right away and locked in a Figure Four. Randy barely escaped with a rope break. Randy went to the apron, Cody tried his own version of the IEDDT, but Randy blocked it and dropped Cody throat‑first on the ropes. Randy choked Cody in the ropes, posed, then catapulted Cody’s throat into the bottom rope. He stomped Cody’s spine and ground his face into the mat. Cody fired back with punches and forearms, but Randy cut him off with a back elbow. Randy stomped Cody’s hand, then dropped him on the top rope again.

Randy dragged Cody back inside and stomped the hand once more before applying a reverse chin lock. Cody punched free and slipped out of a belly‑to‑back suplex. Cody hit the drop‑down uppercut and clotheslined Randy over the top rope. Cody followed Randy to the floor as Randy clutched his left wrist. Randy jabbed Cody in the eye, slammed Cody’s head into the announce table, and set up a back‑drop driver on the table — Cody fought out with punches. Randy kicked him and hit a European uppercut, then climbed the turnbuckles to rain down punches.

Cody fired back with punches of his own and they spilled to the floor again. Randy caught Cody and hit a back‑drop driver onto the announce table, then delivered a second one for good measure. Randy rolled Cody back into the ring, then sauntered over toward Cody’s family at ringside. Brandi threw a drink in Randy’s face, and Cody blasted Randy with a punch.

Cody hit a running forearm, floated over, and nailed a powerslam. He followed with Beautiful Disaster, then hit the jabs and wound up for the Bionic Elbow, landing it flush. Cody set up CrossRhodes, but Randy slipped out. Cody whipped Randy into the corner, but Randy exploded out with a clothesline. Randy hit another, ducked Cody’s shot, and hit a powerslam of his own.

Randy hit the IEDDT and dropped to the mat, coiling for the RKO. Cody countered with CrossRhodes for a close two count. Cody went for the Cody Cutter, Randy blocked it, and Cody rolled him up with a backslide for another near fall. Randy nearly collided with the referee but stopped short — Cody didn’t, and the referee went down. Randy hit an RKO, but with no official conscious, he couldn’t get the pin.

Randy saw Cody in position for the running punt and backed up, but Cody dodged it. Cody hit CrossRhodes and Randy tumbled to the floor. Cody followed with a suicide dive, and Randy crashed into the already‑injured referee, wiping him out against the barricade.

Cody smashed Randy into the ring post repeatedly, then hammered him with punches on top of the announce table. Cody looked at his family, grabbed the ring steps, and blasted Randy with them. Randy, bloody and staggering, tried to stay upright as Cody kept punching him. They returned to the ring, where Cody hit a double‑jump Cody Cutter, then two CrossRhodes in a row, holding on each time before sending Randy down.

Randy was on his hands and knees. Cody lined up the kick — Randy threw his hands up, begging for mercy. Cody froze, conflicted. A second referee slid in to check on Randy. Cody shoved him aside, and Randy hit a low blow on both Cody and the referee. Randy followed with an RKO. The original referee, barely conscious, crawled over and counted the three.

9/6 WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event Preview

Oba Femi steps back into action tonight against Bron Breakker, one half of the World Tag Team Champions and a member of The Vision. Breakker has made it clear he sees himself as WWE’s future and took issue with Femi being mentioned in the same breath. Paul Heyman informed Breakker of the match on the August 17 RAW during a tense confrontation involving all three men. The contract was signed on August 24, and when a brawl broke out, Austin Theory tried to help Breakker. Femi fought them both off and stood tall heading into tonight.

Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton meet for the first time since WrestleMania 42 Saturday, where Rhodes retained the Undisputed WWE Championship against Orton. Their issues reignited after Orton cost Rhodes his SummerSlam Sunday title match against CM Punk. Weeks of confrontations and brawls pushed SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis to enforce a no‑touch clause on August 21. If either man violates it before the bell, they lose the right to ever challenge for the Undisputed WWE Championship again.

Tatum Paxley teams with Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss to face Jade Cargill, B‑Fab, and Michin. Flair has been hesitant about Paxley’s growing friendship with Bliss, but all three have had issues with Cargill’s group for weeks. Paxley scored a win over Michin in her SmackDown debut on August 28 while Cargill, B‑Fab, Bliss, and Flair watched from ringside. Tonight, the six women collide in trios action.

Rapper Lil Yachty makes his in‑ring debut against United States Champion Baron Corbin. The match stems from an agreement made on August 21: if Yachty can last five minutes with Corbin, then Trick Williams earns a future United States Championship match. Corbin dethroned Williams at SummerSlam Sunday on August 2, and Williams has been chasing a rematch ever since.

Quavo is also scheduled to perform live for the WWE Universe tonight.
