New reports suggest Kevin Owens is fine following an injury scare over the weekend.
Concerns surfaced on social media after fan footage emerged showing Owens limping and requiring assistance from medical staff to get backstage following his match at Sunday’s WWE live event in North Charleston, South Carolina.
Despite anxiety surrounding the video clip, prominent wrestling journalists Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez have confirmed that Owens did not sustain a legitimate injury.
Addressing the situation on social media, Meltzer cleared up the speculation regarding Owens’ status:
“Kevin Owens is okay from what we are told,” Meltzer reported. “No injury.”
Owens earned victories against The Miz on both Saturday and Sunday night as part of WWE’s live event circuit, which the company has reactivated this year to afford the roster extra in-ring reps.
Major Relief Following Return From Neck Surgery
The news comes as a major relief for both WWE and Owens, who only recently made his return to action at SummerSlam 2026 following a 15-month layoff due to severe neck surgery and spinal cord recovery.
Since returning, Owens was thrust straight back into top-tier storylines, challenging CM Punk for the Undisputed WWE Championship before interference from longtime rival Sami Zayn cost him the title victory.
A Renewed Mindset For “The Prizefighter”
In a recent interview with FACES Magazine, Owens reflected on his long road back to the ring and shared how the neck injury dramatically shifted his perspective on his career.
“I had this incredible career, I did things I never thought I would do, I did things that a lot of people will never get to do,” Owens said. “Through it all, I would lose perspective, and sometimes I wouldn’t take the time to enjoy those moments as much as I should have. I don’t want to do that anymore. And now, every match I have, every show I’m on now, is a gift, because for a long time, I didn’t think it would happen again.”
