Kelani Jordan has reached the pinnacle of the division, defeating Kendal Grey to capture the NXT Women’s Championship in a relentless, physical battle that saw the challenger ruthlessly exploit a pre-existing injury.
The match escalated quickly from high-flying acrobatics into a methodical beatdown after Jordan pinpointed Grey’s damaged ear early in the contest.
Methodical Assault On Grey’s Injured Ear
Following an explosive opening sequence featuring stereo kips-ups and aerial counters, Jordan seized control by delivering a DDT through the ropes. From that moment, Jordan zeroed in on Grey’s ear, hammering the area with targeted elbows, knees, and heavy strikes.
Grey fought back valiantly, utilizing overhead suplexes and locking in multiple deep ankle locks to force a submission. However, Jordan consistently neutralized Grey’s offense by tearing away the protective bandage on Grey’s ear, shoving her head-first off the ringpost onto the announce table, and stomping the injured joint whenever Grey attempted to apply leverage.
Ringpost Collision Leads To Title Pinfall
The final minutes delivered a sequence of near-falls. Grey connected with a desperate Shades of Grey for a 2.75 count before trapping Jordan in a central ankle lock. Jordan managed to break free, unleashing a superkick and hitting a 450 splash, only for Grey to kick out at the last second.
The defining moment occurred on the outside, where Jordan hurled Grey head-first into the exposed steel of the ringpost. With Grey visibly disoriented, Jordan quickly rolled her back inside, scaled the turnbuckles, and hit a final moonsault to secure the three-count and capture the gold.
