Mercedes Mone stands at the top of the division after defeating Willow Nightingale at AEW All In 2026 to capture the AEW Women’s World Championship in a grueling physical encounter centered on targeted limb submission strategy.
The high-stakes championship clash saw Mone systematically dismantle Nightingale’s injured hand to neutralize the champion’s power advantage and secure the title submission victory.
Targeted Destruction Of Nightingale’s Hand
From the opening bell, Mone zeroed in on Nightingale’s compromised left hand. After exposing a turnbuckle steel ring early in the bout, Mone drove Nightingale into the steel and clamped on an omoplata while repeatedly stomping at the champion’s fingers.
Nightingale mounted a resilient fightback despite the injury, countering Mone’s apron attack with a suplex to the floor and executing a high-risk Spanish Fly from the top rope. However, Mone continued to cut off momentum by wrenching the damaged hand, breaking up aerial attempts and countering with targeted submission holds including the Kimura and Statement Maker.
Referee Collisions And Steel Turnbuckle War
The match descended into chaos down the stretch when Mone rammed Nightingale face-first into the exposed turnbuckle and landed the Mone Maker for a close near-fall. In the final exchange, Nightingale attempted an avalanche powerbomb, but Mone countered with an opportunistic hurricanrana and a backstabber.
After Nightingale countered a pin attempt into a backslide, Mone immediately transitioned into the Statement Maker in the center of the ring. Mone adjusted the hold by wrapping Nightingale’s own healthy arm around her neck, leaving the champion with only her damaged hand to fight back. Mone repeatedly stomped the injured joint until Nightingale passed out, forcing the referee to stop the bout.
