WWE superstar Piper Niven is setting the record straight regarding online speculation about her in-ring future, firmly denying reports that she has retired from professional wrestling.
Niven has been sidelined from competition since August 2025 due to a severe neck injury and cervical stenosis sustained during a match against Charlotte Flair on WWE SmackDown.
Piper Niven Dismisses Retirement Claims On Social Media
Despite Niven sharing periodic updates about her ongoing recovery, rumors recently surfaced across social media suggesting that the former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion was stepping away from the ring permanently.
After a fan directly reached out on X (formerly Twitter) to inquire about the validity of the speculation, Niven responded directly to put the rumors to rest.
“Reports of my demise are greatly exaggerated,” Niven wrote. “I am still in recovery but no I am not retired.”
Ongoing Recovery From Cervical Stenosis Surgery
Niven’s physical setback stems from her August 2025 match, which ultimately required a surgical procedure earlier this year.
Since the operation, Niven has continued to post occasional updates regarding her medical scans and follow-up appointments as she works through the rehabilitation process:
- Injury Diagnosis: Niven has been dealing with cervical stenosis alongside her neck injury.
- Surgical Status: She underwent neck surgery earlier in 2026 to address the issue.
- Timetable for Return: While Niven firmly dismissed the retirement claims, she has not yet established a definitive timetable for a potential return to in-ring competition.
