Newly crowned AEW Women’s World Champion Mercedes Mone revealed during the AEW All In 2026 post-show media scrum that she suffered a broken nose at the very start of her championship victory over Willow Nightingale, requiring immediate medical attention after the match.

Mercedes Mone Reacts To Becoming “The CEO Of The Division”
Reflecting on her landmark victory in front of the Wembley Stadium crowd, Mone shared her pride in capturing the top prize in All Elite Wrestling and praised the depth of the division.
“This something that I’ve wanted for so long. To be able to really say I am the CEO of the AEW Women’s Division, I’m honored. I am beyond honored because this women’s division is the best in the world. Every woman that I’ve ever stepped in the ring with here has given me their fucking all. But I am so happy, so honored to be here and so grateful that I get to do what I love every single week. Man, Wembley tonight was everything. There’s a lot of emotions going on right now.”
Mone Confirms Broken Nose And Stitches Post-Match
When asked about the physical toll of the grueling encounter, Mone confirmed that she sustained a legitimate injury in the opening moments of the contest, requiring doctors to stitch up her nose as soon as she returned to the back.
“I haven’t even had time to process winning this. I was so focused on taking Willow’s smile and ending her career. I finally get to look at [the title] because straight after the match I had to go to the doctor to get stitches for my nose that she broke,” Mone confirmed.
Clarifying when the injury took place, Mone added:
“Right at the fucking beginning. Me and Willow have had it out for each other since the day that we met. Today, all of our emotions, frustrations, and history was right there in the ring. We gave it our all to each other. She legit beat my ass all over the ring, but I beat her harder.”
Despite the early injury, Mone pushed through the complete physical contest, ultimately utilizing her targeted submission strategy to force Nightingale to pass out and secure the championship.
