Following his monumental main event victory over Kenny Omega at AEW All In 2026, newly crowned AEW World Champion Will Ospreay sat down at the post-show media scrum to open up about his iconic entrance, kicking out of Omega’s finishing move, and bringing a major world title back to British soil.

Walking Past The Figures Who Shaped His Career

Before stepping into Wembley Stadium, Ospreay made a memorable walk flanked by the United Empire while passing a lineup of peers and rivals who defined his journey—including Zack Sabre Jr, Michael Oku, Ricochet, Swerve Strickland, Aussie Open, his wife Alex Windsor, and Jon Moxley.

“For me, it was walking past all the people that made me,” Ospreay reflected. “Zack Sabre Jr, the first mountain in British wrestling that I climbed. Michael Oku, my last British wrestling match. Ricochet, from Best of the Super Juniors. Swerve, Kyle and Davis, then see Al [Alex Windsor] there. Then, Moxley. It was mind-blowing.”

Ospreay added that despite past friction with certain individuals, the moment felt like a shared sign of respect: “It was one of the coolest moments to know there was a moment of appreciation from all of them and they were ready to see me step into this position.”

Kicking Out Of The One-Winged Angel And Final Words To Omega

The closing stretch of the main event saw Ospreay join Kota Ibushi as the only two wrestlers in history to kick out of Kenny Omega’s protected One-Winged Angel.

“I don’t know how I kicked out of it. I felt something. I felt like I wasn’t done and I wasn’t ready to roll over and die,” Ospreay explained. “The fact that I’m now in the same category as Kota Ibushi is crazy to me.”

When asked about what he whispered to Omega right before delivering the decisive Hidden Blade, Ospreay revealed a quiet moment of gratitude: “I knew after he kicked out of the Stormbreaker at one, I said, ‘He’s got nothing left.’ I looked at him and I said, ‘Thank you.’ Then smacked him as hard as I physically fucking could.”

The Importance Of Callum Newman In His Corner

Ospreay also detailed why he personally asked Callum Newman at the recent RevPro 14-Year Anniversary Show to stand in his corner, despite recent philosophical disagreements regarding the United Empire’s tactics.

“Me and Callum are always going to have fallouts. We’re brothers,” Ospreay said. “I hate the idea of outside interference… Callum, on the other hand, will try any way to get the job done. Regardless of what we’re going through… he’s my little brother. I’ve known him since he was 15 years old.”

Ospreay noted that despite their ongoing talks, having Newman by his side for the biggest night of his life was non-negotiable, adding: “On the most important night of my life, I know that we’ve got problems and I know that there are things that we need to talk about, but I need my little brother on that night. Thankfully, he was there for me.”

Bringing A World Title Home To British Soil

Reflecting on the magnitude of winning the title in his home country, Ospreay admitted the pressure leading up to Wembley Stadium was intense, but expressed immense pride in flying the flag for British wrestling.

“I’ve grown up watching so many amazing British wrestlers throughout my time and not one of them ever won like a major championship on home soil,” Ospreay shared. “I never imagined when I started doing this that I would even be considered to be the guy that brings a World Championship home to his home country… I got to share the ring with the greatest wrestler of our generation in the most iconic stadium in the UK. I brought home the most important prize in pro wrestling. It means the world.”
