Update on Piper Niven’s Neck Injury – There is encouraging news regarding the status of WWE Superstar Piper Niven following reports of a serious neck injury. According to Fightful Select, while the injury is significant, WWE sources believe that Niven is expected to make a return to the ring. “We’ve got a bit of an update on Piper Niven’s injury. We’re told that while the injury is serious, those we spoke to believe she will return. It’s a neck injury, and she’s still awaiting an official diagnosis. We will respect the privacy of the performer beyond that,” the report stated.
This positive update follows a more concerning report from Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, where he noted there was early fear that the injury could potentially be career-ending. Alvarez said, “There’s concern that it could be career-ending, so whatever it is, it’s serious. Hopefully, she can come back, but she is out due to injury.”
Niven was last seen on the August 22 episode of SmackDown, taped in Dublin, Ireland, where she secured an impressive singles victory over one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Charlotte Flair. That win hinted at significant creative plans for Niven before her injury halted her momentum.
During her absence, her tag team partner Chelsea Green has continued to keep their “Secret Hervice” act alive on television. Green has explained Niven’s absence by claiming she is on a “top-secret special assignment,” even going so far as to accept applications for a temporary replacement partner.
Niven, who first gained attention in the 2017 Mae Young Classic, became a standout in NXT UK before joining the WWE main roster in 2021. After a brief run under the “Doudrop” persona, she reverted to her original name and went on to capture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship with Green in August 2023.
