Former WCW Senior Vice President Eric Bischoff shared strong critiques regarding the main event of AEW All In 2026, comparing the AEW World Championship match between Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega to a hardcore brawl.
Ospreay defeated Omega in front of the London crowd at Wembley Stadium to capture his first AEW World Championship. However, speaking on the 83 Weeks podcast alongside host Conrad Thompson, Bischoff explained why the match fell short of his personal expectations.
Bischoff Compares Main Event To “A Nasty Boys Match”
While acknowledging that fans of AEW’s ring style likely enjoyed the spectacle, Bischoff expressed disappointment with the match’s structure and execution.
“I didn’t like the match at all, and I know people are going to btch, ‘Bischoff’s such a hater.’ Look, for those who like the AEW style of wrestling, it was fine. You got what you wanted. You got what you paid for, and it met or exceeded your expectations, and I’m happy for you.*
“For me personally, subjectively, based on what I enjoy out of professional wrestling, it was like watching a Nasty Boys match. It was a hardcore, slow-paced match. And yes, it was bloody and there were great spots, but that’s my one overriding critique throughout most of the matches.
“The entrances were, by and large, ranging from really, really good to okay. The majority of them fell in the really, really good category, but the matches were—they were okay, but there was nothing special. There was a lot of garbage in there. There was a lot of stuff that you could see through. Timing was off in a number of matches, and a number of them just looked sloppy.”
Critiquing AEW’s High-Spot Formula
Bischoff continued by addressing the pacing and trading of offensive moves that has come to characterize big-match atmospheres in AEW.
“So, yeah, I know everybody’s into, ‘Where the best wrestle and the wrestling is so good and Dave Meltzer is going to give it so many stars.’ That’s great for the audience that really likes the AEW style.
“I mean, that’s what most of this was tonight. It was just, if it’s a 12-minute match, it’s, ‘You get six minutes of high spots and I get six minutes of high spots. We’re just going to take turns.’ That’s the match. And then you get your holy shts, and you get all your ‘This is awesomes’, and the crowd reacts because that’s what they’re there for.*
“They’re there for the high spots, and they’re getting what they paid for, which is a good thing. I’m not being critical of it. It’s a great thing. They put 50,000 asses in seats. It’s a great thing.
“But for me personally, the matches were just okay.”
Clarifying The Nasty Boys Comparison
Later in the broadcast, Bischoff clarified that his comparison was directed at the chaotic, unstructured style of the bout rather than the talent level of the performers themselves. He noted that the bout became an anything-goes brawl with excessive reliance on weapons, blood, and minimal referee control.
Bischoff also noted that he expected a different dynamic from Ospreay, taking issue with Ospreay taking punishment for nearly 20 minutes before mounting his championship comeback.
