TNA iMPACT Results – July 9, 2026 – Welcome to WrestlingAttitude’s coverage results of TNA iMPACT on July 9.
TNA World Tag Team Championship Match: The Hardys (c) vs The Great Hands (Jason Hotch & John Skylar)
So the Hardys won the titles at Slammiversary in a 4-way ladder match that included The Great Hands, who were added to the match because Daria Rae thought they were “good employees.” After they lost that match, Mustafa Ali asked if they could have another shot and Daria said “sure, it’s not like we make matches based on merit or wins or anything.” So here we are.
Jeff kicked things off against Jason Hotch who made the mistake of mocking Jeff’s dancing, so he knocked Hotch to the ground with a shoulder tackle and drove him into the corner. Matt tagged in and they both stomped Hotch in the corner.
After a quick cover attempt, Skylar tagged in and he and Hotch double teamed Matt. They isolated him in their corner and Hotch went back to the “mocking Jeff’s dancing” play which infuriated Jeff, but the ref cut him off from getting involved.
Skylar tagged in just as Matt got a hot tag to Jeff and Jeff avenged his dancing with some flying elbows and stomps. He went for a cover, but Hotch broke it up.
Jeff went for a Whisper in The Wind, but the Great Hands moved out of the way and hit him with The Favor instead. Matt broke up the pin attempt.
Jeff landed a Twist of Fate on Sklyar and then tagged in Matt for another. Matt tagged Jeff and he went up top for a Swanton Bomb and 1-2-3, the Hardys win and retain their titles.
Match Result: The Hardys defeated The Great Hands
After the match, Mustafa Ali and Agent 0 came out to collect the Great Hands, but then Ali got on the phone and they all slinked away up the ramp.
-Backstage Lei Ying Lee was interviewed about her match tonight for the Knockouts Title against Xia Brookside. Lee said Slammiversary was painful, she lost her title and her best friend. She will give her no excuse tonight though, just a fight. Lee said that the title belongs to a real warrior and tonight she will take it back.
-Next up, it was time for Frankie Kazarian and the King’s Speech. Kazarian’s guest tonight is none other than Moose! Moose! Moose! (but only one of him).
Kazarian mentioned that Moose has defeated every member of the System. How does he feel about that? Moose said that it was a moment he will charish because he got to share it with his family.
Kazarian said that his family is going to need therapy after Slammiversary. Moose said “no they won’t” and then said that what’s next for Moose is to dominate TNA. He then said that if anyone in the back wants to take on the franchise, bring it on.
Kazarian said “yeah, you’re ok” and Moose said “yeah I am.” Then Kazarian asked if Moose was stupid. Because how could he call himself the franchise when he’s in the ring with a King? (somewhere, Jerry Lawler perked up and doesn’t know why).
Moose said “who crowned you king?” then he went on a rant about people coming to TNA then leaving, but he calls TNA home, which is why he’s the face of this place. Kazarian then called him a bitch and said that he (Frankie) is the last TNA OG standing.
Moose said that he’s done a lot in TNA, but has never beaten Moose one on one. So how about it? Kazarian said, “no thanks.” Kazarian then said that Moose’s NFL career was as ugly as the women here in Albany. That brought out AJ Francis, fresh from 1998.
Francis said that he once played football with Tom Brady and he said that Brady said Moose quit football because he was scared of AJ Francis. The ludacris conversation ended with Moose challenging Francis to a match and Experessions said “we accept… but not tonight, next week.”
Then Kazarian repeated what had just been said and that was the end of the segment.
TL;DR – Frankie Kazarian invited Moose on his talk show to be offended that Moose thinks he’s a pillar of TNA and essentially annoy Moose into a match against AJ Francis becasue of a totally real story about Tom Brady.
-Next, Elijah appeared in a taped message saying that he wants to walk the entire TNA audience right up to the TNA World Title. He then played his smoky light up guitar a bit.
TNA Knockouts Television Title Tournament First Round Match: Indi Hartwell vs Vicki Venuto
The winner of this match will go on to the next round to face the winner of Thea Hail vs Harley Hudson, which we will see presumably next week.
What I like about this tournament so far is the tight matches, fresh pairings and that everyone in the tournament seems surprised to see the Title belt on the little podium near the entrance ramp.
Anyway, Venuto caught the first waistlock in the match but counted it and bounced Hartwell’s head off the turnbuckles. Hartwell countered a whip to the corner and came off the ropes with a big boot. She threw Venuto into the corner for a lariat, but whiffed on an uppercut allowing Venuto to get the upper hand.
Venuto threw Hartwell with a big suplex, but could only get a two count. She chopped Hartwell in the corner then hit a back kick for a two count cover. Venuto whipped Hartwell into the corner aggressively and dropkicked her to pick up another two count.
Hartwell came off the ropes with a clothesline and a spinebuster to get her own two count. Hartwell tried to get a full Nelson on Venuto but she countered it with a cutter. Venuto went for a spinning DDT, but Hartwell countered it onto Hurtz Donut and that was it. Hartwell advances in the tournament.
Match Result: Indi Hartwell defeated Vicki Venuto
The TNA Injury Report aired next which is usually an entirely unnecessary portion of the show, but for the last couple of weeks, TNA World Champion Nic Nemeth has added to the report that he’s “just fine” and I think that’s really funny.
-Back from a break, a Fabian Aichner vingette played and in case you were wondering, he loves Italy, prefers wrestling to being a pro skier and he wants to win the X-Division title.
Leon Slater & Ricky Sosa vs The Righteous (Dutch & Vincent) vs The System (Bear Bronson & Brian Myers)
Unlike the Great Hands, The System and the The Righteous did not get a rematch with the Hardys and instead got one with Slater and Sosa, who are friends and co-workers. Also European. Both are European.
For this match, they stressed that you win by pinfall or submission and only two teams could be legal, with one member each in the match. Pretty standard stuff, but a little bit of review isn’t a bad thing now and again.
Slater and Sosa immediatly disregarded that a double teamed Dutch with stereo superkicks. Then they hit stereo dives, Sosa taking out the System and Slater taking out the Righteous. (Which included a very funny aside from Bronson who said to Meyers “what are they counting down for?”)
Slater and Vincent found themselves legal and Slater hit him in the corner exactly 10 times before tagging in Sosa. Sosa dropkicked Vincent in the back and went for a quick cover, but only got two. Slater came back in and helped Sosa with a powerslam.
Slater and Vincent stayed legal and Slater went up top, but Meyers started messing with him, then Dutch finished the job, pulling him down. Vincent then hit Slater with a flatliner. Dutch tagged in and threw some strikes before throwing Vincent onto Slater.
Dutch tagged in and grabbed a headlock on Slater. Slater powered back and then— the Calgary Derby is going to be on Sportsnet later. Yes, that’s how jarring that commercial break was.
Back from said break, Slater and Vincent were trading punches in the middle of the ring. Dutch got too close and Bronson grabbed a blind tag to Dutch’s chagrin. Bronson hit a choke bomb on Slater, but Sosa came in to break up the pin.
Meyers tagged in a grabbed a choke hold. Slater tried to punch out of it, but Meyers slammed him. He went to the corner and burst out right into a superkick from Slater. Sosa got his tag and started clearing house, taking out Dutch, Vincent and hitting a full nelson slam then springboard moonsault on Bronson. Vincent broke up the pin.
Everyone started spamming finishers until Dutch and Bronson were the only two left in the ring. The two big men started throwing bombs with Bronson catching one that sent him into the ropes. The fight moved to the outside, where Slater dove on them, then threw Bronson back into the ring.
Sosa met him there and hit a spinning uppercut that knocked Bronson cold and Sosa made the pin. Bang Bang. Sosa Sosa.
Match Result: Leon Slater & Ricky Sosa defeated The Righteous and The System
-Backstage, Director of Authority Santino Marella was trying to do Sosa’s dance. He was approached by Daria Rae who said he looked dumb. Then Ryan Nemeth showed up and said that he thinks KC Navarro shouldn’t be allowed to talk tonight. For Reasons. Santino said “c’mon, let the little guy do his thing” and then Daira said “Yeah, he should speak but if you, Ryan, happen to go out there and punch the air he’s in and if he happens to get hit, it’s his own fault.” Nemeth said “cool” and left while Santino tried to get Daria to do the dance.
TNA Knockouts Television Title Tournament First Round Match: Jody Threat vs Gabby Forza
This is Forza’s TNA debut, in which she revealed that she is obsessed with Gnomes , carries one to the ring like her own bearded La Yesca and speaks in a high-pitched Gnome-y voice and may be clinically insane. I love her so much. Jody Threat is friends with Lars Fredrickson of Rancid though, so they are both pretty cool
Turns out she’s a pretty good wrestler too, keeping control of the match and through the opening minutes. Threat powered back with the two being pretty even strength wise.
Forza went for a Vader bomb at one point which got her a two count. Threat countred a power slam and went off the ropes where they collided in a double clothesline. That happened three more times and then Threat tried to lift Forza up on her shoulders. Forza got out of it, but Threat hit her with a meteora and then a German suplex.
Threat then dropkicked Forza to the outside and hit a cannonball from the apron. Threat threw Forza into the ring and went up top, but Forza dodged the crossbody. Threat rolled through and Forza caught her with a spinout rack bomb for a 2.5 count.
Forza tried the Vader Bomb again, but Threat counterd it into a Pop Shove It slam (her finisher) and made the cover to win the match.
Match Result: Jody Threat defeated Gabby Forza
-Backstage, Mustafa Ali was shown getting dressed (which was weird since he hadn’t had a match) and telling someone off screen to “set it up” and called a State of The Order Address for next week, with mandatory attendance.
-After a break to process that, KC Navarro came to the ring to let us all know what his next move is. Navarro reminded us that last week, Nic Nemeth hit him with a danger zone. Navarro used to respect Nemeth, so he called him to the ring to explain himself.
Nemeth arrived told Navarro that he really wanted to make him something special in TNA, but nobody has that much time (actually pretty funny). Nemeth said that Navarro is “pretty good” but just doesn’t have it.
Navarro was FURIOUS at the suggestion that he didn’t have “it.” He listed off a few accomplishments and then said it was lame because Ryan doesn’t have “it.” With that, Ryan Nemeth appeared behind Navarro and punched the air he was in, knocking him to the mat.
Nic came down and told Navarro to lose his number and leave Nemeth and his family alone. Then the Nemeth’s left, presumably to a cookout based on Nic’s shirt.
TL;DR – Navarro thought Nic Nemeth was cool, but he wasn’t and got punched about it.
No DQ Match For The TNA Knockouts World Championship: Xia Brookside (c) vs Léi Yǐng Lee
Simple story here, Lee and Brookside were Best Friends, Brookside chose championship gold over friendship and won the title from Lee. Now, they settle up with a No DQ match.
Lee set the tone, hitting Brookside with a dropkick mid-entrance pose. The bell rang and Lee pump kicked Brookside in the face and tried to go full Mortal Kombat and smash her with her fan, but Brookside dodged and Lee ended up fanning the steel steps.
Back in the ring, Lee slammed and stomped Brookside in the corner. She dropped some elbows and knees into Brookside’s back and clubbed her to the mat. Brookside bailed to ringside to regroup and Lee dove on her through the ropes.
Brookside tried to get away, but Lee pulled her back to the ring. Brookside grabbed the fan, and swept Lee’s leg with it. Brookside then drove the metal handle of the fan into Lee’s leg and knee repeatedly. Brookside suplexed Lee into the middle of the ring and then went to the outside.
Brookside went ynder the ring and pulled out a leather belt. She snapped it for the camera and rolled into the ring to smack Lee with it over and over. Brookside used the belt to add more torque on the leg in an STF.
Back from a break, Brookside was still wielding the belt, doing as much damage as she could to Lee’s leg. Brookside used the belt to choke Lee, but then put it down to hit a running knee. Lee moved and Brookside hung herself up on the ropes. Lee took control with a series of kicks.
Lee sent Brookside into the corner and tried to step up the ropes, but her leg gave out. She managed to get up in the opposite corner and hit Brookside exactly 10 times. Lee then hit an exploder suplex out of the corner and Brookside rolled out.
Lee hobbled after her and grabbed a chair, a kendo stick, another chair, a third chair and a table from under the ring. She set up the table at ringside then grabbed Brookside and hit her head off the table a couple of times to soften her up.
Lee took Brookside up to the apron and set her up to be put the through the table. Brookside countered though, got back into the ring and evened the odds with a kendo stick. She hit and choked Lee with the stick, eventually getting back to the apron by the table.
Brookside then went and got the title belt. She posed with it for a moment, then in response to the crowd’s “we want tables” chant, kicked over the table. That left her open to take a cannonball from Lee off the apron.
Lee dragged Brookside back into the ring and delivered some chair-based punishment. She then DDT’d Brookside onto the title belt and piled up the chairs. She threw Brookside onto the pile of chairs and went up top for a swanton, but Brookside moved and Lee hit the chairs square.
Brookside grabbed the title belt and laid Lee out, but Lee kicked out of the cover at two. They traded punches until Brookside pulled a chair in the way. Lee punched the chair which opened her up to a Darkside DDT onto the chairs. 1-2-3 Brookside wins and retains her title in a really good match.
Match Result: Xia Brookside defeated Léi Yǐng Lee
After the match, Brookside posed over Lee with the belt.
