The IInspiration Get Squashed in AEW Dynamite Debut – On the March 4 episode of AEW Dynamite in El Paso, Texas, The IInspiration finally made their televised debut, but the moment was short-lived.
Taking on “The Brawling Birds”—the newly formed team of Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter—The IInspiration tried to lean into their signature character work before the bell even rang. Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay actually asked for their entrance music to be played twice so they could continue to dance, a move that clearly frustrated their opponents.
The match itself lasted just under 90 seconds from bell to bell. The undefeated Brawling Birds quickly finished off the former WWE Women’s Tag Team and TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions with their “Two Birds One Stone” finisher, a move described as a Hart Attack-style double team.
Lee and McKay first arrived in AEW during the company’s two-night tour of Australia last month. They made their physical debut at a non-televised House Rules event in Brisbane, where they defeated two local wrestlers. They followed that up with a pre-taped promo on last Saturday’s Collision to set up the match with Hayter and Windsor.
The IInspiration wrapped up their most recent stint in TNA back in January, where they lost the Knockouts Tag Team titles to The Elegance Brand. Despite the rocky start on television, the duo is reportedly on multi-year deals with AEW. They are also scheduled to travel to Japan later this month to challenge for the TJPW Princess Tag Team Championships.
