The Don Callis Family now holds the AEW World Trios Titles after a chaotic main event on the March 4 episode of AEW Dynamite. The team of Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, and Mark Davis defeated the champions, Jet Set Rodeo, in a match that was put together while the show was already in progress.
The finish came when “Hangman” Adam Page seemed to have the match won. After hitting Mark Davis with a Buckshot Lariat, Page tagged in Kevin Knight to deliver their team finisher. However, MJF appeared and knocked Page off the ring apron. This distraction allowed the Don Callis Family to take control. Okada leveled Knight with a Rainmaker, and Davis followed up with a piledriver to secure the pinfall and the titles.
This was a particularly rough night for Kevin Knight. Earlier in the show, he lost a hard-fought opening match against MJF for the AEW World Championship.
The Trios title match was set up earlier in the evening after Page won a quick “squash” match. MJF came out to taunt Page, his upcoming opponent for Revolution, which led to Fletcher, Okada, and Davis attacking the “Hangman.” Mike Bailey and Kevin Knight ran out to help their partner, leading Don Callis to challenge them to a title match on the spot. Callis claimed the match was officially approved by Tony Khan.
The loss ends the 50-day title reign for Jet Set Rodeo. The team won the belts back in January but only managed one successful title defense before losing them in El Paso.
With this win, the Don Callis Family now holds a significant amount of gold in AEW:
- Kyle Fletcher is now a double champion, holding both the Trios title and the TNT Championship.
- Kazuchika Okada is also a double champion, holding the Trios title along with the AEW International Championship.
- Mark Davis earned his first AEW title with the win. It is his first championship since he and Fletcher lost the ROH Tag Team titles to MJF and Adam Cole in 2023.
