“I’m not saying that people who tweeted have said that to me,” Meltzer stated. “I will only say that those words have been said to me by… there is a prevailing viewpoint there, among people and talent, that is identical to some of the things that were tweeted. So we’re ribbing on the square.”
He added that the situation mirrors classic wrestling tactics, where performers work an angle using real underlying tension. Meltzer emphasized that if the animosity were truly personal, talent like Chelsea Green and Piper Niven would not be permitted to publicly criticize a colleague.
