The post-Elimination Chamber edition of WWE RAW on March 2 closed with a heated confrontation between Roman Reigns and CM Punk, escalating their rivalry just weeks before WrestleMania season hits full stride.
Reigns made his way to the ring to end the show and greeted the crowd with his familiar “Acknowledge Me” catchphrase. He barely had time to soak in the reaction before Punk interrupted him.
Punk opened with light sarcasm, questioning why the “OTC1” appeared so angry. Reigns responded by joking that a recent tweet must have upset Punk. The former World Heavyweight Champion quickly shut that down, stating he does not get mad over social media posts or podcast comments.
The tone shifted from playful to personal when Punk said he was tired of carrying Reigns and his “bullshit” for the next seven weeks. He referenced their shared history in Indianapolis and claimed he brought Reigns “to the dance.” Reigns fired back, correcting him by saying Punk brought Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose to the dance, not him.
Punk continued to press, bringing up their last encounter and boasting that he had gotten inside Reigns’ head and made him emotional. That comment set Reigns off. He said Punk would not even be on his radar if he were not holding the World Heavyweight Championship.
Reigns then took the verbal assault further. He claimed WWE brought Punk back to entertain “30 to 40 year old virgins,” sell merchandise, and draw tickets in Chicago. He questioned Punk’s recent positive attitude and dismissed the idea that Punk is truly enjoying himself or serving as a locker room leader. Reigns ended his remarks by saying he would send Punk on a retirement tour, suggesting he could finish up in NXT teaching the next generation before they get “stacked and smashed” as well.
Punk delivered the final blow. He mocked Reigns for standing alone without a Wiseman or family at his side. Then he responded to the retirement comment with a chilling line, telling Reigns that instead of retiring him, he is going to bury him next to his father.
The segment ended with both men staring each other down, leaving RAW on a tense and personal note.
