Bronson Reed Reflects on Wrestling Roman Reigns at WWE Crown Jewel: Perth – This Saturday’s WWE Crown Jewel: Perth marks a major milestone for Bronson Reed, who will finally wrestle in his home country of Australia as a WWE Superstar. The Adelaide native is set to face Roman Reigns in an Australian Street Fight at Optus Stadium, and he described the homecoming as a dream come true.
“That was sort of a dream of mine, to be able to come back to Australia as a WWE Superstar. It’s something that I’ve always thought about,” Reed told The West Sport. “And now it’s a little surreal seeing the big flags and stuff with me up there with the likes of John Cena.”
Reed previously battled Reigns at Clash in Paris, where The Tribal Chief picked up the win. However, the aftermath saw Reed and Bron Breakker launching a surprise attack that left Reigns laid out — setting the stage for their rematch in Perth.
With Reigns’ global star power, Reed admitted he’s unsure how the crowd will respond to him in his homeland. “I feel like, it does hit different,” he said. “You know, I’ve had a lot of big matches in my career. I’ve faced Roman Reigns once before, but it was in Paris. It’s always different doing it on your home soil. It’s a bit of a homecoming for myself. I have a lot of guys that I wrestled with on the independents that are going to be at the show. A lot of friends and family watching. And I’m facing, you know, the face of WWE, I’m facing Roman Reigns. So it’s a huge deal for me.”
Reed has lived in the United States for the past seven years and said he misses Australia frequently. He was originally expected to appear at WWE Elimination Chamber in Perth last year but missed the event due to the birth of his first child.
