Several ECW Originals Make Their Presence Felt at NXT in the 2300 Arena – The November 6th episode of WWE NXT, held at the iconic 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, featured special appearances from several ECW Originals, celebrating the historic venue and thrilling fans with nostalgic moments.
Je’Von Evans squared off against Wes Lee in a heated match. Before the bout, Lee launched a backstage attack on Rob Van Dam, but RVD wasnât done for the night. During the match, RVD made an appearance, throwing Lee off his game just as Lee was gaining control. Lee attempted to strike RVD with a chair, but RVD dodged, giving Evans the chance to hit a dive to the outside. Evans capitalized on the distraction, finishing off Lee with a frog splash for the win.
Meanwhile, Robert Stone stirred up the Philadelphia crowd by disrespecting the city and praising New York. His taunts were cut short when the lights dimmed, and Rhyno, former ECW World Champion, appeared. The crowd erupted as Rhyno delivered a Gore to Stone, delivering a dose of ECW-style justice and thrilling the hometown fans.
Trick Williams teamed up with Bubba Ray Dudley to take on Ridge Holland and Ethan Page. Though Ridge secured the victory by pinning Trick, the celebration didnât last. Bubba and Trick rallied back, with Trick hitting the âWazzupâ dive on Ethan. D-Von Dudley then joined the fun, bringing out a table for the duo. Together, Trick and Bubba put Ethan through it, and Trick was given the trademark taped Dudley glasses, solidifying his honorary spot in the Dudley family.
Tony D’Angelo also had a memorable night as he was confronted by Nunzio and Tony Mamaluke, who playfully challenged him for not reaching out to his âfamily.â Nunzio demanded an NXT North American Title shot, which D’Angelo accepted. Tony successfully defended his title later in the night, leading to a heartfelt post-match embrace, reaffirming family ties.
