4/12 WWE SmackDown Results – After highlights from WrestleMania, we go inside the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, MI, where Cody Rhodes makes his way to the ring to start the show.

Cody asks Detroit what do they want to talk about. Cody says this past Monday, he was doing some talking and he was interrupted by The Rock.  As his music hit and he strolled to the ring, Cody was thinking about someone from Detroit who would have said ‘Who said it was open mic night, BITCH’.  Cody apologizes for cursing.  He says when Rock got in here, the room got colder and the mood got serious.  He was handed a something he gifted the Rock.  It was awkward.  Cody says he believed that the Rock was going back to Hollywood and he believed that Rock would be coming back for him.  Cody says he will be standing right here.  That is in the rear view.

Three weeks from now, he is going to be going to the first of their international PPVs, Backlash in Lyon, France.  He will be facing one of these six men.  It could be Santos Escobar, Rey Mysterio, LA Knight, AJ Styles (one of a few men, along with him who has been NWA and WWE champion), Bobby Lashley, and Kevin Owens.  Kevin, who is a friend, thinks he is better than Cody and Cody thinks that he might be better than Kevin.  There is one place to determine that.

Cody turns around to see the rest of the crowd.

Cody says he is no longer the hunter, but the hunted.  Cody says if you come at the king, you best not miss.  For those on the blue brand who claim to be unfamiliar wtih him, Cody introduces himself and he says he was once desirable, become undeniable, and now your Undisputed WWE Champion.

Accountability is a very big word on the Island of Relevancy and Roman has ordered that they accept accountability. At Wrestlemania 39, what happened? Roman entered the ring focused, strategic, and unemotional. Cody was distracted for a moment by Solo. That is on Cody for not preparing for that. Roman went on to retain the title.

Cody flipped the script at Mania 40. Seth told Cody he would be his Shield, the one unresolved thing in his career. Roman had a chair and could have smashed Cody with it, which was legal. Why didn’t he do it. After waiting for ten years to get revenge on Seth Rollins, Roman gave in to temptation. He was distracted by his lust for revenge on Seth Rollins. He took his eyes off the ball and Cody was strategic and focused. Then, it was over.

Your new Undisputed champion is Cody Rhodes.
