Backstage News on Drew McIntyre's Eulogy Segment

Backstage News on Drew McIntyre’s Eulogy Segment – In the latest vignette to build up one of the marquee matches at WrestleMania 40, WWE drew inspiration from a familiar segment.

During Monday’s RAW on April 1st, Drew McIntyre was depicted at a funeral home, standing beside a casket and delivering a eulogy-like speech directed at CM Punk’s absence from WrestleMania 40. He lamented the missed opportunity at the Royal Rumble, suggesting Punk’s physical condition had hindered his chances of main-eventing the grand event. McIntyre also made pointed remarks about Punk’s perceived decline in UFC and his current state, vowing to triumph over Seth Rollins at WrestleMania.

Interestingly, WWE utilized a venue previously associated with TNA Wrestling for similar funeral-themed segments in the past, possibly drawing on the creative influence of Jeremy Borash, who had been involved with TNA during those instances.

The showdown between WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre, with CM Punk providing commentary, is set to headline night two of the event at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
