Update On The Rock Wrestling Again Following WrestleMania 40 – The anticipation surrounding The Rock’s return to the wrestling ring at WrestleMania has sparked speculation about his future in WWE, with the company reportedly eager to see him compete beyond the upcoming event. However, it seems they may have to exercise patience as scheduling conflicts arise.
At WrestleMania 40, The Rock is slated to team up with Roman Reigns to take on Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins, marking his first official match since WrestleMania 29, with only an impromptu appearance at WrestleMania 32 in between.
While WWE has expressed interest in having The Rock wrestle again post-WrestleMania, his upcoming movie filming schedule presents a potential hurdle. According to Dave Meltzer’s latest update in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, The Rock’s next film is scheduled to shoot from May to August 1, making it unlikely for him to compete at WWE’s next show in Saudi Arabia, reportedly set for May.
Meltzer notes that although plans exist for The Rock to return to the ring after WrestleMania, his filming commitments would likely delay his wrestling comeback until WWE SummerSlam. This presents a challenge as The Rock would need to juggle training for his match while on set.
As of now, there is no set date for The Rock’s next match, with his availability contingent on his movie schedule. However, Meltzer highlights that The Rock’s contract with WWE allows flexibility to rearrange dates for premium live events.
Fans can catch The Rock’s highly anticipated appearance on the March 15 episode of WWE SmackDown, with WrestleZone providing comprehensive coverage of the event as it unfolds.
