Jim Ross Commends WWE's Presentation for Evolving Beyond Humor

Jim Ross Commends WWE’s Presentation for Evolving Beyond Humor – With WWE’s recent production overhaul, which saw longtime director and producer Kevin Dunn stepping away, and Lee Fitting, formerly of ESPN, assuming the role of Head of Media & Production, fans have noticed significant aesthetic changes in WWE programming.

On the Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross discussed the impact of these changes on the feel of WWE shows, particularly under Fitting’s direction. He noted a shift towards a more serious presentation style, with less emphasis on humor and more focus on storylines rooted in reality.

Ross expressed his belief that this new approach resonates better with audiences, as it allows for greater immersion and investment in the narratives presented. While Ross admitted he wasn’t personally acquainted with Fitting, he commended the changes brought about under his leadership, indicating his personal enjoyment of the new direction.

“I think so. They seem to be less ‘haha,’ as Patterson [Pat Patterson] would say, and more serious presentation. I think fans respond to that better because you’re not trying to drill them with so much weak storyline. Storylines based in reality, people can relate to that a lot easier than pure fiction that is sensationalistic and people can’t totally invest in. I’m not familiar with this gentlemen, but if he’s the one responsible, he’s done a good job because you can tell it’s a little different, and one that I enjoy, quite frankly,” Ross said.
