Chad Gable Reacts to Though Loss in Gauntlet Match – Last night on Monday Night Raw, the main event was a Gauntlet Match to find out who would face Gunther next. The last two wrestlers left in the match were Sami Zayn and Chad Gable. After a tough battle, Sami Zayn won and earned his chance to challenge Gunther at WrestleMania.
After losing, Chad Gable talked about his disappointment in a backstage interview. He said it was really hard for him because he didn’t just let himself down, but also the people who count on him. He explained that it’s more than just missing out on an opportunity – it’s like letting down his family and not living up to his own values and goals. He said it feels like he’s not being true to himself, and it’s a really tough thing to deal with emotionally.
“Coming up short. You hear that all the time. It’s starting to become kind of the story you know of my career thus far. Unfortunately, at least my singles career. It’s disappointing. That puts it lightly, more than anything. It’s kind of defeating in the sense. For those that have never felt something like this, it’s more visceral than you can really describe. It’s not coming up short, it’s really letting people down that depend on you in a number of ways.
“Like I said before, to me it meant a lot more than WrestleMania, a lot more than a championship. It was a very personal thing for me, my family, and kind of the things and ideals that I guide my life by. I don’t want to get melodramatic here but it’s really true. This is a lot of the guiding forces in my life rode on this and for me delivering on the things I say I’m gonna do. That’s always who I’ve been. So, this is an example of me not doing that. And if you really boil it down to it, it kind of shatters your paradigm of who you are. Of at least who thought you were. So it goes pretty deep.”
