Wardlow Makes CM Punk Reference on AEW Dynamite – Wardlow sparked some buzz with his promo on 2/21 AEW Dynamite, as he took some shots at CM Punk.
Former TNT Champion Wardlow came to the ring and noted that he was “pissed off.” He recalled how thousands of people used to chant his name before he said that the rocket that had been strapped to his back was put on backwards, as he had been sent straight into the ground and screwed over.
Wardlow then looked back on his time in AEW up to this point. He referenced CM Punk by bringing up the “real” world champion saying he beat him up so badly that his body was still breaking down. Plus, in another shot at Punk, he said it sounded like he was the “best in the world.”
Wardlow also called out AEW World Champion Samoa Joe and saying that he has beaten him in the past. “Mr. Mayhem” declared that people in the back should be fired because he had yet to receive a world title shot. Wardlow ended his message by saying no one could stop him, and this was no longer wrestling; instead, this was war.
The broadcast team noted that Wardlow would compete in a “Meat Madness” match at AEW Revolution. Other details were not provided. Later in the show, Don Callis hinted that Powerhouse Hobbs might be involved in the match, as he said he had the Meat Madness.
