2/24 AEW Collision Results – We are live from the Great Southern Bank Arena in Springfield, Missouri, as Sammy Guevara makes his way to the ring!
Sammy Guevara vs. Powerhouse Hobbs, No Disqualification
Commentary reminds us that all members of the Don Callis Family are banned from ringside, as is Chris Jericho.
Guevara with a running kick before the bell even rings, then follows up with a knee. Guevara is all over Hobbs to start, hitting him with a springboard cutter before clotheslining him over the time rope. Guevara grabs the camera and says “I’m a freaking Collider now!” Hobbes reverses an Irish Whip from Guevara into the ring steps, but Guevara leaps over them and sends Hobbs into the ringside barrier. Guevara leaps at Hobbs, but Hobb catches him and slams him into the steps, taking control of the match.
Dueling chants for Hobbs and Guevara as Hobbs delivers multiple slams to Guevara onto the ring apron and tosses him into the barrier. Hobbs asks the crowd if they want more, and they do, but he fakes them out and doesn’t deliver. What a heel! Hobbs throws Guevara into the barricade again, then wanders over to commentary and starts badgering Kevin Kelly. Hobbs demands that Kelly give Hobbs his belt, which he does. Hobbs begins whipping Guevara’s back with the belt. After three shots, Sammy counters with a pair of superkicks, then grabs a steel chair! Guevara hits Hobbs in the arm and then in the head with a chair, then dropkicks the chair into Hobbs’ face. Guevara goes for a move onto the steps, but Hobbs counters and throws Guevara onto the barricade again. Hobbs has Sammy on his shoulder and wants to smash him into the steps again, but Guevara counters and delivers a cutter onto the ring steps!
Guevara grabs Kelly’s belt and whips Hobbs with it, then pulls out a table, much to Springfield’s delight. Guevara sets up the table, then slides a chair across it into Hobbs’ midsection. Guevara pulls out and sets up a second table. Hobbs is on the ring apron Sammy goes to the top rope. He jumps onto Hobbs, who catches him and delivers a massive spinebuster off the apron to the floor, through both tables! The crowd chants “Holy s***” as we go to commercial.
Coming back, Hobbs is in control in the ring and Irish Whips Sammy into the corner. Guevara manages to get Hobbs up on his shoulders and delivers a big move that gets him a two-count. Sammy goes outside and gets a monitor, then re-enters the ring and smashes it into Hobbs’ face. Sammy going for another weapon under the ring and pulls out a third table. Guevara puts this one in the ring, but Hobbs levels him with a lariat. Hobbs sets up the table in one corner of the ring but Sammy is back in it and hits a superkick. Guevara goes for another springboard cutter, bouncing off two different ropes this time, but Hobbs catches him and delivers a World’s Strongest Slam. Hobbes comes off the ropes and kicks Guevara in the head, then goes outside for a fourth table. Both men are on the outside as Hobbs sets this table up, kicking Guevara again for good measure. Hobbs takes out yet another table, that’s five now. He sets this one up next to the fourth one on the outside of the ring. Hobbs picks up Guevara and gets him up on a shoulder, but Sammy drops behind him and shoves him into the ring post. Guevara grabs a bottle of beer from the crowd, drinks from it, and smashes it over Hobbs’ head. Then he does it again! Hobbs is now lying on the two tables on the outside, insensate. Sammy pulls out a ladder and shoves it into the ring, knocking over the table already in there and collapsing its legs. Sammy sets up the ladder inside the ring and begins to climb. Hobbs is still lying on the tables. Guevara poses atop the ladder, then hits a huge Senton Splash onto Hobbs through the tables!
There appears to be an issue with Sammy’s right hand after that spot, but he rolls Hobbs back into the ring and sets up the remaining table. He punches Hobbs so Hobbs is now lying on this table, then climbs to the top rope. Hobbs, however, shoves the referee into the ropes, making Guevara fall and crotch himself. Hobbs then climbs to top rope, picks up Guevara, and delivers a World’s Strongest Slam off the top rope through the table. Hobbs covers Guevara and gets the three-count.
Winner: Powerhouse Hobbs
FTR vs. Lee Moriarty and Shane Taylor
Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli are backstage. Moxley tells a story about how when Claudio first came to America, he walked 20 miles from the airport because he’s a freak. Moxley says nobody can beat the two of them in a war of attrition, but they don’t get paid by the hour, and a time limit draw is unsatisfactory. Moxley says FTR has pissed the BCC off, and accepts FTR’s challenge for AEW Revolution. Moxley says they are the elite of the elite, and Claudio lists all the legendary tag teams of the past. Claudio says FTR looks to the past, while the BCC looks to the future, creating the wrestling they want to see. Claudio challenges FTR to step into the future by going through the BCC. Moxley says that can’t be all FTR had in their time limit draw, because it feels like he and Claudio never went through their entire arsenal. As they walk away, Claudio tells FTR to bring their whole back of tricks, because they’ll need it.
FTR comes down to the ring while commentary plays highlights of the time limit draw and subsequent brawl with BCC from “Dynamite.” Shane Taylor Promotions comes down, and the bell rings as Dax Harwood locks up with Lee Moriarty. Harwood tags in Cash Wheeler, who locks up with Moriarty. Nobody has the advantage so far, but Moriarty gets wrist control and rolls up Wheeler for a two-count. Wheeler drives Moriarty into the corner, where he regroups. Wheeler sends Moriarty into the ropes and they bounce off them for a while until Wheeler hits an elbow, then grounds Moriarty and tags in Harwood. Harwood and Wheeler pull off some double team action, but Moriarty makes it to the corner and tags in Taylor. Harwood tries to come off all four ropes to knock Taylor down but can’t; the fourth time he jumps over him and attacks from behind, but it ends in a standoff. Taylor whips Harwood into the ropes, but Harwood hits a dropkick. Taylor comes back with a leg drop and a lariat, and tags in Moriarty. Moriarty hits Harwood with some strikes, but Harwood gains control in the corner and chops Moriarty in the chest. Harwood and Moriarty exchange blows and Harwood picks up Moriarty, who makes a blind tag to Taylor. Taylor drops to the floor. Harwood is still dealing with Moriarty when Taylor slides into the ring and levels him, then taunts Wheeler as we go to commercial.
Back from the break, Taylor has Harwood in a bear hug. Harwood escapes, but Taylor picks him up again and slams him down for a two-count. Moriarty tags in; Harwood rolls him up but only gets two. Harwood gets Moriarty in a sleeper hold, but Moriarty backs him into his own corner so Taylor can tag in. Taylor with a knee to Dax’s head, the hits a side slam. Taylor goes to the top rope and comes off with a splash, but Harwood gets out of the way. Moriarty tags in and prevents Harwood from tagging Wheeler for a moment, but Dax gets there and Cash makes the hot tag. Wheeler starts cleaning house, hitting uppercuts on both his opponents before delivering a running clothesline to Taylor and an uppercut to Moriarty, followed by a cutter for a two-count. Moriarty goes to the outside, Wheeler tries to suplex him back into the ring but Taylor grabs his feet. After a two-count and another exchange, Taylor hits big punch on Wheeler, but Cash is able to make the tag and get Moriarty up for the Doomsday Device. Harwood covers Moriarty for the win.
Winners: FTR
FTR is now on the mic. Wheeler says a few weeks ago Moxley told them to “step up, and get stepped on.” Wheeler says they’re like a couple cockroaches, it takes more than stepping on them to kill them. If BCC has anything to say them tonight, they know where FTR will be. Harwood takes the mic and references Moxley’s promo about the past and history. That’s not what this is about. Dax says Moxley is the king in AEW, this is his castle. Harwood sees the BCC walk around the back and people cower out of fear. Dax says they’re pissed off because FTR isn’t scared of them. Dax has heard that to be a king, you have to kill the king, and at Revolution, “we’re coming for your head. Top guys, out.”
A video package airs promoting the upcoming match between Bryan Danielson and Jun Akiyama.
Thunder Rosa vs. Lady Bird Monroe
The bell rings and Rosa immediately grapples Monroe and takes her down. They stand back up and exchange standing switches. Monroe gets the advantage and forearms Rosa in the back of the head, then delivers a big chop to the chest. Rosa fires back with a chop of her own, then delivers some forearms. Rosa talking trash as she slams Monroe’s head into the turnbuckle pad. Monroe delivers some chops, then a running kick, but Rosa takes her down again, then delivers a low dropkick. Rosa with Monroe on her shoulders in a fireman’s carry and drivers her down. Rosa waiting for Monroe to get back up, then hits the Tijuana Bomb for the three-count.
Winner: Thunder Rosa
Rosa gets in the face of the camera and says she’s climbing the ladder because that’s what she does, and she’s going to the top. She says it’s her time. We go to commercial.
Jay White, Colten Gunn, and Daddy Ass vs. The Iron Savages
Renee Paquette interviews Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale, and Stokely Hathaway about their feud with Julia Hart and Skye Blue. Hathaway takes the mic first and goes off the rails for a few before Statlander challenges Skye Blue to a match next week.
Jay White and Colten Gunn enter first for the next match, then their partner, Daddy Ass, comes out with The Acclaimed. Max Caster does his rap, but completely botches it and ends up just stopping, letting Anthony Bowens demand scissoring.
The bell rings while Daddy Ass and Jay White are trying to figure out who’s starting. Ultimately it’s Billy Gunn against Boulder of the Iron Savages. Boulder has the advantage for a moment and taunts, but Daddy Ass pokes him in the eye. Colten comes in and whips Bronson into the corner, then runs at him, but Bronson moves. Colten jumps all the way over the ring post, looks like he tries to stay on the apron but fails, falling to the floor. Bronson gets him back in the ring and starts working over his back, sitting on him from off the top rope. Now Boulder is in, picks up Colten and drops him down. Boulder does a bunch of talents, then tags in Jacked Jameson, but Colten gets the better of all three and tags in White. White chops Jameson, then starts chopping Bronson. White goes back to Jameson with chops and other strikes in the corner. Bronson runs at him, but white moves and Bronson hits his partner. Bronson then misses a running splash and goes to the outside, then White nails Jameson with a uranage. The match descends into chaos, with Billy Gunn hitting the Fame-ass-er on Boulder and White nailing Jameson with the Blade Runner for the win.
Winners: The Bang Bang Scissor Gang
Bryan Danielson is interviewed backstage and talks about how much he respects Jun Akiyama, but doesn’t respect Eddie Kingston. Danielson imitates Kingston doing a promo and says he’s not a professional. He’s known Eddie for over 20 years, and he’s wasted his potential until the last year. Not only does Danielson not respect Kingston, Kingston’s wasted potential pisses him off, and that’s why Danielson is going to beat Kingston at Revolution.
Malaki Black vs. Bryan Keith
Commentary runs down recent House of Black activities, including their violence against Mark Briscoe, as Black comes to the ring.
The bell rings. Bryan Keith removes his coat and spins it around his hand. They lock up and handfight, exchanging takedowns and countering each other’s holds, then go into a sequence where they each counter everything the other tries. Keith comes out of the spot on top and taunts Black before they lock up again.
Black and Keith bounce each other off the ropes before Keith his Black with a big boot. Keith with punches and chops in the corner, then kicks. Black delivers a kick of his own, but Keith hits a snap suplex for a two-count. Keith butterflies Black, but Black gets out behind him. Keith counters Black again, but ends up on the apron which Black proceeds to kick him off as we go to commercial.
Coming back, Keith gets Black rolled up for two. They then exchange standing strikes, and Keith knocks Black down twice. Black responds with a vertical suplex. Keith gets a two-count after a neckbreaker across the knee. Keith taunts Black again and pull him to his feet. He butterflies the arms again, but Black escapes. Keith grabs Black, runs up the ring post and hits a tornado DDT. This takes them into another standing strike exchange. Keith wins that battle, but Black with a knee to the gut and a leg sweep. Black climbs to the top rope, but Keith hits a rising headbutt. Keith climbs the ropes and is looking for an exploder, but Black knocks him to the mat and leaps from the top rope with a double stomp. Pump kick, rising knee strike, and a German suplex with a bridge only gets a two-count for Black.
Black lifts Keith’s head up with his foot, but Keith dodges the spin kick, butterflies the arms and hits the Liger Bomb! Two-count only. Keith has been selling knee injury and is working feeling back into it. He runs at Black for another move, but Black hits the spin kick out of nowhere and gets the three-count.
Winner: Malaki Black
The lights go out, and when they come back on Mark Briscoe is in the ring with a kendo stick! Black bails while the rest of the House of Black comes out, but Briscoe sends them flying with the kendo stick. Briscoe pulls out a spike, the same weapon HOB used on him, but Black dodges and Briscoe gets the spike stuck in the turnbuckle pad. This allows House of Black to take advantage and drop Briscoe, ultimately standing over him as their music plays.
Serena Deeb vs. Lady Frost
A video package airs for the feud between Sting and Darby Allin and The Young Bucks.
Serena Deeb comes out. Footage of Lady Frost competing in Mexico is provided during her entrance, courtesy of CMLL. The bell rings, collar-and-elbow tie-up. Lady Frost trips Deeb and covers her several times, but Deeb won’t stay down, gets back up, and takes control. Deeb and Frost exchange standing holds. Deeb gets the better of it and puts Frost in an innovative submission, but quickly lets it go and taunts. Frost counters Deeb with her legs and a dropkick, then flips over Deeb when Deeb comes running at her. Deeb proceeds to hit a shoulder tackle, however.
They come off the ropes at one another and Deeb gets Frost in a leg submission. Deeb stands up and asks the crowd to cheer as we go to a break.
Coming back, Lady Frost jumps over Deeb but runs right into a leg whip. Deeb hits a lariat, the another one. Frost misses one, then Deeb hits her with a series of left hands. Frost with a gut kick, Irish Whips Deeb into the ropes but Deeb hits a running clothesline. Deeb picks up Frost, but Frost counters Deeb’s whip into the corner. Frost attacks Deeb, but Deeb counters and gets on the apron, hitting a neckbreaker over the second rope. Deeb gets back in the ring and his a swinging neckbreaker, but only gets a two-count.
Deeb tries to get Frost up for a piledriver but Frost counters with a backdrop, then hits a big kick. Frost cartwheels into a big move but only gets two. Misses a cyclone kick and Deeb hits a back elbow, then an arm capture clothesline. Deeb turns Frost over into a single-leg crab, and Frost taps.
Winner, by submission: Serena Deeb
Deeb is now on the mic. Deeb says the women’s division is heating up, but she put the locker room on notice. Anyone who wants to come to the ring or join the division are welcome to Deeb’s Dojo, because she’s here to elevate the division. Deeb says when she wrestles, the lights don’t go out and the picture doesn’t go black and white, but she wrestles. She’s here to put the wrestling back in All Elite Wrestling.
Bryan Danielson vs. Jun Akiyama
Eddie Kingston comes out first and will be on commentary. Danielson comes down and refuses to look at Kingston as he makes his way to the ring.
The bell rings and Danielson and Akiyama cautiously engage each other via handfighting and switches. Danielson takes Akiyama down and gets his back, but Akiyama counters and gets back to his feet. Danielson presses Akiyama against the ropes, but ultimately does a clean break. They lock up again, Akiyama with a side headlock. Danielson whips Akiyaka into the ropes, but Akiyama hits a pair of shoulder tackles. Danielson takes Akiyama down again and maneuvers him into a surfboard position, then stomps on Akiyama’s knees. Danielson continues slowly working over the left knee of Akiyama. He drops an elbow on the knee, which allows Akiyama to get him into a cross arm-breaker. Danielson relieves the pressure and ties up Akiyama’s legs again, then bridges over into the Muta Lock.
Akiyama escapes by raking Danielson’s eyes, then gets to his feet and delivers kicks and punches to Danielson. Akiyama bends Danielson’s arm over his shoulder, twists his fingers, then wrenches Danielson’s arm down over his shoulder. Akiyama gets a hammerlock on Danielson, who is able to drive Akiyama outside the ring. Danielson comes in with a dive, but Akiyama counters with a forearm. Commentary doesn’t seem to know exactly when the break is coming, but it does come.
Back from break, Danielson is down and Akiyama drops a knee on him while Danielson is lying across the ring apron, sending him to the outside. Akiyama gets Danielson up and tries a vertical suplex, but Akiyama uses a knee to the head to counter and delivers a vertical suplex of his own. Danielson goes up to the ring apron and takes Akiyama down with a diving knee strike to the outside. Danielson rolls Akiyama into the ring and comes off the top rope with a dropkick. Danielson then begins hitting his patented running dropkicks in the corner, but Akiyama counters the third one with a lariat. Danielson, however, takes Akiyama down and locks him in the Lebell Lock, but Akiyama gets to the ropes.
Danielson goes to the tope rope again, but Akiyama gets up and punches Danielson, who sits on the top rope. Akiyama climbs up, but Danielson punches him back down. Danielson jumps off the top rope, right into an Akiyama knee, and Akiyama follows up with a piledriver for the two-count. Akiyama delivers knee strikes to Danielson and goes for a running knee, but Danieson counters into a single leg crab and then transitions into an ankle lock. Akiyama tries to fight out of it, but Danielson turns the hold into a German Suplex.
Big kicks to the chest from Danielson. Akiyama counters one of them by grabbing the leg and hits one of his patented exploder suplexes for a two-count. Akiyama then gets Danielson into a triangle choke hold, but Danielson gets his foot on the bottom rope (Nigel McGuinness roasts Danielson on commentary for needing the ropes to get out of the choke). Danielson with more kicks, but Akiyama hits a massive knee strike and both men are down. They both get up and run at each other with apparent simultaneous knee strike attempts; they land awkwardly. Once they’re back up, the two men exchange standing forearms. Akiyaka wins an extended strike exchange as Danielson goes down. Akiyama goes for another exploder but Danielson counters with an arm drag and then hits the Busaiku knee. Danielson does the “Yes” taunts, waiting for Akiyama to stand. Another Busaiku knee strike, and it’s over.
Winner: Bryan Danielson
Danielson celebrates and finally looks at Kingston. Danielson offers Akiyama a handshake, and Akiyama accepts. Danielson then turns to Kingston on the outside and offers a handshake momentarily, but quickly turns it into a middle finger. Akiyama saw the move and is upset, shoving Danielson. Danielson beings apologizing to Akiyama, but then hits him with a low blow! Eddie Kingston immediately attacks Danielson, but Claudio Castagnoli attacks him. This brings out FTR to make the save. Commentary announces that, per Tony Khan, Wednesday’s “AEW Dynamite” will feature a trios match — Kingston teaming with FTR against Danielson, Castagnoli, and Jon Moxley. The babyfaces celebrate as the show goes off the air.
