WWE to Revamp SmackDown Announce Team

WWE to Revamp SmackDown Announce Team

It looks like WWE is shuffling its commentary teams once more.

The last switch occurred in August, introducing Michael Cole and Wade Barrett as the Raw commentators, with Cole maintaining his position on SmackDown alongside Kevin Patrick and Corey Graves.

Prior to this alteration, Patrick and Graves were the Raw commentary duo, while Cole and Barrett covered SmackDown. The move aimed to leverage Patrick’s potential and provide him with learning opportunities alongside Cole, whom WWE highly regards.

Cole, who had long been the primary play-by-play voice for SmackDown, transitioned to Raw, while Barrett moved from NXT commentary to SmackDown in late 2022.

Recent reports from Pwinsider indicate WWE’s decision to adopt two-man commentary teams across the board, discontinuing Cole’s tenure on SmackDown. As of the Day 1 edition, viewers can expect Cole and Barrett on Raw, while the New Year’s Resolution-themed SmackDown this Friday will feature Patrick and Graves.
