Mickie James Joins OVW as Creative Director and Head of Female Talent – Mickie James, a five-time WWE Women’s Champion and five-time Impact/TNA Knockouts Champion, has found a new wrestling home in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW).
As reported by Fightful on Thursday, James is set to take on multiple roles in OVW, including creative director, head of female talent, and executive producer for all the company’s shows. OVW, formerly WWE’s developmental territory from 2000 to 2008, gained renewed attention in 2023 with the release of the Netflix docuseries “Wrestlers,” shedding light on the company’s history and current behind-the-scenes dynamics. OVW currently has a weekly live TV show along with pay-per-view events.
James, who took a break from Impact/TNA in November 2023 but remained on good terms with the promotion, has not wrestled since her unsuccessful attempt to capture the Knockouts title from Trinity at Bound for Glory in October. While there has been no official confirmation from either OVW or James, this move marks an intriguing development in James’ ongoing career in the wrestling industry.
