Kazuchika Okada Continues to Weigh Options Amid AEW and WWE Interest – Kazuchika Okada is taking his time with one of the biggest decisions of his life as he will need to pick where he wants to go next in his pro wrestling career – WWE or AEW?
Okada will be able to make the decision legally once he’s free and clear of his NJPW deal, which expires at the end of this month. Okada has been on the radar of some in WWE for a while now, and he knows what it’s like to wrestle in All Elite Wrestling.
As previously reported, both WWE and AEW made pitches for him. Tony Khan is believed to have made the stronger first offer, but no contract had been signed. However, both sides still believe they have a chance to sign him.
Despite a report going around this week, Okada is not WWE-bound, and there hasn’t been talk about where he would start – main roster or NXT – yet should he sign.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that the belief is Okada will start soon wherever signs.
Meltzer wrote, “The last word was that he had not made up his mind. I know people here range from hopeful to, I’d perceive as confident he will be coming.
Meltzer speculated that if Okada signed with AEW, he could make his official debut at AEW Revolution in March, while if he goes to WWE, they will hold off until the build to WrestleMania in late February after the Elimination Chamber PLE.
