Backstage Talks on Jade Cargill's Debut

Backstage Talks on Jade Cargill’s Debut – Jade Cargill made her much-anticipated in-ring WWE debut as the #28 entrant in the Women’s Royal Rumble match, marking a significant milestone in her transition to the WWE stage.

Jade Cargill’s WWE Debut: A Milestone Moment

In her debut bout, Cargill showcased her athleticism and power, engaging in fierce competition with Nia Jax and ultimately eliminating her from the match. The final moments saw Cargill battling alongside Liv Morgan and Bayley, with Bayley ultimately emerging victorious after eliminating Morgan.

Cargill’s journey to the WWE ring has been marked by intensive training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, following her signing with the company several months ago. Her appearances on Raw, NXT, SmackDown, and Fastlane have provided glimpses of her potential, as she shared the spotlight with WWE’s top talents, including Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels.

Critique from Wrestling Observer Radio

However, commentary from Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio highlighted areas for improvement in Cargill’s performance. Meltzer noted that while Cargill received favorable reactions from her opponents, her in-ring execution showed signs of her AEW background, suggesting she is not yet at the level of her WWE counterparts. Alvarez echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the importance of Cargill gaining experience on the road and working closely with veteran WWE women to refine her skills and prepare for future high-profile opportunities, such as a potential WrestleMania debut.

Editor’s Note

I usually don’t comment, but what Meltzer and Alvarez said, personally, I find it absurd. If there was something positive in Jade Cargill’s performance, it’s precisely the fact that she showed herself to be extremely prepared and different from what appeared during her time in AEW. And considering that in AEW she was not at all a superstar, but rather a ‘wannabe’ imposed by management with zero preparation, the difference in terms of wrestling ability was very noticeable in what was just a debut in front of 50,000 people and her first match after months of absence from a wrestling ring.

Triple H’s Social Media Post

Speaking of Cargill, Triple H took to social media on Sunday to share photos of himself backstage with Jade Cargill, Naomi and Liv Morgan, while addressing the changing landscape of the women’s scene in WWE following the first WWE PLE of 2024.

“The landscape of the WWE Women’s division was altered last night,” he wrote. “The connections that these three have with the WWE Universe is undeniable… and I have a feeling their momentum will be unstoppable. #RoyalRumble.”
