Interesting Stat on Rey Mysterio's US Title Reign

Interesting Stat on Rey Mysterio’s US Title Reign – WWE Crown Jewel 2023 witnessed history being made in multiple ways, one of which was a unique change in the location of a WWE United States Championship reign.

According to WWE Stats, there has never been a WWE United States Championship reign that both began and ended outside of the United States. However, this longstanding tradition was disrupted this weekend.

Rey Mysterio initially captured the WWE U.S. title by defeating the former champion, Austin Theory, on an episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown that occurred in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, in August. This marked the start of his championship reign that deviated from the usual U.S. territory.

The WWE Hall of Fame legend’s title reign came to an end at WWE Crown Jewel on Saturday, under unique circumstances. Rey Mysterio lost the WWE U.S. title after being struck by brass knuckles wielded by Logan Paul, who subsequently pinned him to become the new United States Champion. This shift in championship location adds a distinctive chapter to the history of the WWE United States Championship.
