Billy Corgan Reflects on Nick Aldis’ Move to WWE – Nick Aldis, who served as the face of the NWA from 2017 to 2022, notably holding the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title for a significant portion of his tenure, parted ways with the company on less than amicable terms in late 2022. Aldis expressed frustrations with Billy Corgan and the company’s direction upon his departure.
Subsequently, Aldis found a new home in WWE, where he currently holds the position of WWE SmackDown General Manager.
During an interview on Drew Garbo Live, Corgan was asked about Aldis’ transition to WWE and whether he feels happy for him.
“In that particular case, he left under kind of a cloud, so it’s hard for me to feel as happy as I would like to because, with any situation where you part ways with somebody who is not completely happy, and then goes out and talks about not being happy, it’s hard to kind of root for them. That said, very talented guy, and I’m not surprised he’s landed at a higher level and I can only wish him the best,” he said.
