AEW Unveils 12 Competitors for the Continental Classic Tournament – The Continental Classic tournament is set to kick off tonight on Dynamite, and AEW President Tony Khan, along with Tony Schiavone and Eddie Kingston, recently announced the competitors for this inaugural event.
Declared for the tournament are Eddie Kingston, Mark Briscoe, Andrade El Idolo, and Bryan Danielson. This tournament spans till the December 30th Worlds End pay-per-view, where match winners will secure three points, and draws will grant each wrestler involved a single point.
The tournament’s victor will earn the esteemed Triple Crown Championship, encompassing the ROH World and NJPW Strong Openweight Titles.
The wrestlers have been divided into two leagues, distinguished by blue and gold groups:
Blue League: Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli, Brody King, Andrade El Idolo, Daniel Garcia, and Eddie Kingston.
Gold League: Jon Moxley, Swerve Strickland, RUSH, Mark Briscoe, Jay Lethal, and Jay White.
Tonight’s Dynamite features matches like Moxley vs. Briscoe, Strickland vs. Lethal, and RUSH vs. White. Additionally, this Saturday’s Collision matches include Kingston vs. King and Garcia vs. Castagnoli. This sets the stage for an intense tournament full of high-stakes matches and potential game-changing moments.
