WWE Bringing Back WarGames Match for 2023 Survivor Series – WWE has announced that Survivor Series will take place on Saturday, November 25, at the Allstate Arena in Chicago. The preceding night, Friday Night SmackDown will be hosted at the same venue, serving as the go-home show for Survivor Series.
It’s worth noting that WWE is promoting Survivor Series 2022 with a focus on the traditional Survivor Series theme, rather than branding it as Survivor Series: WarGames, as they did in the previous year.
However, according to a report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, WWE is planning to feature WarGames Match for the second consecutive year at Survivor Series. While the report suggests a men’s match featuring tables and heavily implies Judgment Day will play a role in the match, further details remain unknown. This indicates that WWE is continuing to explore the potential of this exciting and chaotic match type for Survivor Series.
The 2022 edition of Survivor Series marked a significant moment as WWE incorporated WCW’s WarGames cage gimmick into the main roster, after years of it being primarily reserved for blowoff matches in NXT. Both the men and women’s divisions had the opportunity to participate in this unique bout.
