Alex Hammerstone Requests Release from MLW – Professional wrestler Alex Hammerstone has reportedly requested to be released from his Major League Wrestling (MLW) contract. However, as of the present, MLW has not indicated its intention to grant Hammerstone’s request.
According to Fightful reports, the relationship between Hammerstone and MLW has deteriorated. Earlier this year, discussions took place between the two parties regarding a possible buyout, but MLW’s current position is to retain Hammerstone, whom they have been in contact with.
The report suggests that Hammerstone’s motivation waned when he was booked to lose the MLW World Heavyweight Championship to Alex Kane earlier this year. His most recent match in MLW was his title loss to Kane.
Alex Hammerstone had held the MLW World Heavyweight Championship from October 2021 until July 2023 when he lost the title to Alex Kane. He signed a multi-year contract with MLW in December 2021, which is reportedly set to run until the end of 2025.
In the earlier stages of his MLW career, Hammerstone was part of The Dynasty alongside MJF and Richard Holliday. MJF is the current AEW World Champion, while Holliday, who left MLW earlier this year, recently participated in a WWE tryout.
