Alex Shelley Injured – Impact World Champion Alex Shelley was unable to participate in Friday’s Turning Point event in the United Kingdom due to an injury. Shelley, who was slated to team up with Chris Sabin at the show in Newcastle, had to be replaced by Frankie Kazarian. Sabin and Kazarian went on to face Moose and Brian Myers in the tag team match originally planned for Shelley and Sabin.
Additionally, a scheduled three-way match between Kazarian, Rich Swann, and Trey Miguel was altered to a singles match between Swann and Miguel, with Kazarian replacing Shelley.
According to reports, Shelley sustained a leg injury during the UK Invasion tour’s first night, and he was observed backstage at Turning Point with a noticeable limp. The Impact World Champion expressed his frustration at being unable to compete. It remains uncertain how long Shelley will be sidelined and whether he will participate in the remaining two shows of the UK Invasion Tour in Coventry.
Shelley’s injury has been described as “an extremely pulled muscle in his calf” by PWInsider. The UK Invasion tour will wrap up with events in Coventry on Saturday and Sunday, featuring tag team matches and a World Championship defense by Shelley against Josh Alexander. Impact Wrestling has yet to announce whether Shelley will be able to compete in these scheduled matches.
