Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select has reported that Thunder Rosa’s return to the ring could happen at almost any time, and creative plans have been developed for her comeback.
Rosa’s hiatus from wrestling began over a year ago when she had to withdraw from an AEW Women’s Title defense at the All Out event last year due to her back injury. Subsequently, she had to relinquish the title.
Her most recent match was in August 2022 when she and her team, consisting of Toni Storm and Hikaru Shida, emerged victorious in a trios competition against Emi Sakura, Marina Shafir, and Nyla Rose.
During her time away from in-ring competition, Thunder Rosa remained active in the wrestling world by providing Spanish commentary for All Elite Wrestling. Reports in late July indicated that she was actively training for her eventual return, with former WWE star Shoichi Funaki assisting her in San Antonio.
