9/29 WWE SmackDown Results – Michael Cole, Corey Graves, and Kevin Patrick welcome us to SmackDown from the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, CA.

In the Arena, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman make their way to the ring.

Paul introduces himself and tells the crowd that his name is not Boo.  Paul says he doesn’t have to do it into his phone, he gets to do it live around the world.  Paul says they acknowledge Roman and so do each and every single one of you.  Why do they acknowledge Roman?  Because it is in his name that last week, the second greatest of all time John Cena took a beating that he hasn’t dealt with for over a decade.

We take a look at a video package of what happened last week.

Paul says not that he wants to get involved with John Cena’s business, but a little birdie told him that John is dealing with some transportation issues.  He should make it here, but you can’t see John Cena because John is not here at Smackdown.  Paul says AJ Styles is also not here.  It is because AJ is lying in a hospital bed watching Smackdown.

Jimmy wants the mic and Paul hesitates to give it to him so Jimmy takes it from Paul. Jimmy says the Bloodline is in your city.  Jimmy says Paul is too kind.  The real reason John Cena is not here tonight is because he is scared.  John is scared of Jim Uso.  Jimmy says John should stay far far away from the Bloodline.  He will take care of John like they did with AJ Styles.

Karl Anderson attacks Solo and then sends Jimmy to the floor.

Karl says it is now OC business and it is personal.  He wants to face one of them. Paul holds back Solo and he whispers something into Solo’s ear.  Solo tells Jimmy to handle this or he will handle it for Jimmy.

We go to commercial.

Jimmy Uso vs. Karl Anderson

The match is joined in progress and Karl sends Jimmy into the turnbuckles and then he punches and kicks Jimmy.  Jimmy misses a chop and Karl with a knee in the corner.  Karl punches Jimmy and follows with an Irish whip.  Karl runs into a boot but Karl with a spinebuster for a near fall.  Karl with a European uppercut and a second one.  Karl puts Jimmy on the turnbuckles and punches Jimmy.  Karl sets for a superplex and Solo gets his knee on the apron.  Jimmy rakes the eyes and Karl falls to the mat.  Jimmy punches Karl.  Jimmy with a super kick and then Jimmy goes up top.  Jimmy with a frog splash for the three count.

Winner:  Jimmy Uso

After the match, Karl goes after Jimmy but Jimmy with punches.  Solo with a Samoan spike. Solo continues to refuse to high five or shake Jimmy’s hand as they go to the back. Mia Yim comes out and Jimmy says something to her and Mia slaps Jimmy before going to check on Karl.

Backstage:

Cathy Kelley is in the back with Santos Escobar. She asks Santos about facing Rey tonight.  Santos says he is very focused but his stomach has serious butterflies.  This match is about heart.  It has been his dream to face Rey in a match for a title.  WIth the whole world watching, he has a chance to make this dream come true.  Santos says he will never give up on his dreams and Rey is in for the fight of his life.

– The ring is being set up for the Grayson Waller Effect.

We go to commercial.

– We are back and Jimmy Uso yells at production workers because he is embarrassed that he got slapped. Paul calls Roman.

The Grayson Waller Effect

It is time for the Grayson Waller Effect with Grayson Waller, starring Grayson Waller.

Waller says Cena might be the greatest of all time, but he ain’t the greatest at being on time.  Waller says he is here to save the show.  He says his guests are getting bigger and tonight, he means physically.  He says Lashley is struggling as a talent scout.  Tonight, Bobby gets the Grayson Waller Rub.

Bobby Lashley makes his way to the ring.

Waller thanks Lashley for coming on the show after the week he had.  The Street Profits had a devastating loss last week. Bobby says he made a mistake and he thought they had enough pride to make it in this business.  Bobby says it is time to go back to the drawing board. Waller says if Bobby is looking for a tag team that will do anything it takes.  Maybe he is looking for Austin Theory and Grayson Waller. Lashley says he will pass on that. Waller says Theory has changed and he is a good bloke.

The Street Profits make their way to the ring and they are in matching suits.  Lashley is a bit confused by what is happening. Bobby says he doesn’t want to hear excuses or reasons.  He says if they want something out of him, prove it. Lashley leaves the ring. Montez and Angelo leave the ring and go after Bobby.  Lashley tells them to prove it as he walks to the back.

Waller says this is awkward.  Waller brings out Austin Theory and he stares down Lashley for a few seconds before Bobby goes to the back. Theory walks past Ford and Dawkins as we go to commercial.

Austin Theory vs. Cameron Grimes

Dragon Lee is in the crowd and he will be the referee for the North American Title Match. Theory has some words for Lee

Grims with kicks and a flying forearm or two.  Grimes with a reverse atomic drop and kicks.  Grimes with a drop kick to the head and he gets a near fall.  Theory kicks Grimes in the head and connects with a back elbow.  Theory with punches.  Grimes punches Theory but Theory with an Irish whip.  Grimes with a kick and he goes up top for a cross body and he gets a near fall.  Grimes misses a round kick but he does a back flip and hits a German suplex for a near fall.  Grimes sends Theory over the top rope to the floor and then he kicks Theory from the apron.  

Waller has some words for Grimes and that distracts him long enough to allow Theory to recover and send Grimes into the ring post.  Theory with a slingshot rolling drop kick and A Town Down for the three count.

Winner:  Austin Theory

After the match, Theory walks over to Dragon Lee and he pie faces Lee.  The referee separates the two men and then tells Theory to go to the back. Waller tells Theory not to worry about him.

Backstage:

Kayla Braxton is in the back with Rey Mysterio. She asks Rey about Santos’ comments earlier. Rey says LWO is family and will always be family.  He knows how hard Santos has worked.  He has nothing but love and respect for Santos.  Be careful what you wish for.  Rey says he expects the best from his opponent in every match and he will bring the best.  He will give Santos the fight of his life and may the best man win.

– Rey Mysterio makes his way to the ring as we go to commercial.

Backstage:

We see Jimmy Uso attacking Ashante Thee Adonis while B Fab tells him to stop. Jimmy stops as officials hold Jimmy back. Jimmy tells Solo to finish him and Solo with a uranage through the table.

Rey Mysterio vs. Santos Escobar for the United States Championship

Zelina Vega is at ringside for the match.

They lock up and Santos with a waist lock.  Rey looks to reverse the hold but Santos takes Rey to the mat.  Rey goes for a flying mare but Santos holds on.  Santos goes for a seated abdominal stretch but Rey stops it and works on the leg.  Santos with a body scissors and rollup for a near fall.  Santos with a waist lock take down and a wrist lock.  Rey with a back flip to reverse it.  Rey goes to the apron and connects with a shoulder.  Santos sends Rey back to the apron when Rey tries for a head scissors.  Santos kicks Rey off the apron and then hits a pescado as we go to commercial.

We are back and Santos with an abdominal stretch.  Santos with a hammer lock and he takes Rey to the mat.  Dom with a flying mare but Santos with a shoulder tackle.  Santos with a drop kick for a near fall.  Santos with a waist lock and Rey with a standing switch.  Santos with a standing switch and Rey holds on to the ropes on an O’Connor Roll attempt.  Rey with a head scissors that sends Santos to the floor.  Rey with a double jump cross body to Santos on the floor.  Rey goes up top and hits the seated splash and a cross body but Rey has trouble getting back up.

We see Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa in split screen destroying peole in black shirts.

Santos goes for a sunset flip but Rey rolls through and hits a round kick because you do not sunset flip Rey Mysterio.  Rey with a drop toe hold that sends Santos into the ropes.  Rey goes for a 619 but Santos recovers and hits a super kick that sends Rey to the floor.  Santos with a suicide dive.  Santos with a moonsault off the ringside barrier onto Rey.  Santos sends Rey back into the ring.  Santos sets for the running double knee strike and hits it.  Santos sets for a second one and hits it.  Santos puts Rey on the turnbuckles and he climbs as well.  Rey with forearms and head butts to send Santos to the mat.  Santos with an enzuigiri to stop Rey on the turnbuckles.  Santos sets for a Frankensteiner and hits it.  

Santos goes to the apron for a slingshot splash and he gets a near fall as we go to commercial.

We are back and Santos chops Rey.  Santos with a boot to the midsection and Santos gets Rey up for a Gory Special.  Rey with an arm drag to escape.  Rey sends Santos to the apron and Santos with a kick.  Santos goes up top and misses a cross body when Rey moves.  Rey misses a springboard cross body when Santos moves.  Santos with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker to Rey.  Santos gets Rey in a reverse Torture Rack and he drops down for a back breaker and Santos gets a near fall.  Rey tells Santos there has to be a winner.  Santos with a chop.  Rey with a kick and he goes for a rana but Santos blocks it.  Rey with a sunset flip for a near fall.

Santos sends Rey to the apron and Rey with a forearm.  Rey goes up top and he pulls Santos onto the turnbuckles.  Rey sets for a rana off the turnbuckles but Santos blocks it and sets for a Super Phantom Driver.  Rey with elbows to stop Santos.  Rey with a head scissors off the turnbuckles.  Rey drop kicks Santos into the ropes and Rey sets for the 619.  Santos blocks it and he gets Rey on his shoulders for an Alebama Slam but Rey counters with a head scissors to send Santos into the ropes.  Rey with a 619 and then he goes up top.  Rey misses a frog splash and Santos with a cover but Rey with a crucifix for a near fall.  Santos gets Rey up for the Phantom Driver but Rey counters with a rollup for the three count.

Winner:  Rey Mysterio

After the match, Rey has something to say to Santos, but The Street Profits attack Santos and Ford with a clothesline to Santos.  Bobby Lashley comes out and he claps as he comes to the ring.  He tells Montez and Angelo that they have it in them. Joaquin Wilde runs into a back elbow from Lashley on the floor while Cruz del Toro goes after Ford and Dawkins.  Dragon Lee is held back by security while Ford and Dawkins hit Revelation on Wilde.  

– We are told that The Cena has landed in Sacramento.

We go to commercial.

Backstage:

The LWO is in the trainer’s room and Kayla ambushes and asks about the attack by the Street Profits and Bobby Lashley. Rey says they beat the Street Profits last week and now Bobby wants to run the show.  Rey says they challenge Bobby and the Street Profits for Fastlane.

– The announcers talk about Jade Cargill’s signing with WWE.

– We take a look back at last week’s match between Iyo Sky and Asuka.

Charlotte Flair makes her way to the ring for her match against Bayley, but we cut to the parking lot where John Cena arrives with his Mustang and has a contract in his hads.

We go to commercial.

– We are back with the latest in Elton Prince’s recovery. We see him trying to reach for Kit on the apron but he falls out of his wheelchair.  He is unable to properly poke someone in the eyes.  Elton wheels down a road.  He has trouble using a chair. However, he powers through the pain and he is able to thumb a mannequin in the eyes and hit a weight bag with a chair.  Elton makes the tag to Kit.

– Butch and Ridge are in LOCKER ROOM watching MONITOR and they wonder what the heck was that.

Charlotte Flair vs. Bayley

Before the match starts, Charlotte takes the mic and she asks Bayley what happened.  She asks if Bayley is happy being on the sidelines holding Iyo’s belt.  She says Bayley is a stepping stone while Charlotte says she is the measuring stick.  After she beats Bayley tonight, she will challenge Iyo for her title at Fastlane.

Bayley attacks Charlotte as the match starts and she connects with forearms.  Bayley with a forearm and she sends Charlotte into the turnbuckles.  Bayley with kicks and a forearm.  Charlotte sends Bayley into the turnbuckles and chops Bayley.  Flair with more chops.  Bayley with an Irish whip and Flair does the Flair flip and kicks Bayley and then she kicks Iyo.  Bayley kicks Flair off the apron and then hits an elbow drop to the back.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Flair goes up top and hits a cross body.  Flair with chops and a fallaway slam.  Charlotte with a handspring clothesline for a near fall.  Bayley goes for an O’Connor Roll but Charlotte holds on to the ropes.  Flair with a step over knee drop to the leg.  Flair with a kick in the corner.  Bayley with a kick but Flair with a kick of her own for a near fall.   Charlotte goes to the turnbuckles for a moonsault but Bayley pulls Flair to the mat.  Bayley puts Flair in the ropes and hits a knee drop to the midsection.  Bayley with a sunset flip power bomb into the turnbuckles for a near fall.  Bayley wtih forearms and then she struts.  Bayley with chops.  

Charlotte with a spear for the three count.

Winner:  Charlotte Flair

After the match, Bayley is given the mic and she tells Charlotte if she thinks she can cut the line for a title match.  Bayley says they are going to end her tonight.

Dakota, Iyo, and Bayley surround Charlotte on three sides and… Asuka makes her way to the ring and she gets in the ring with Charlotte. Asuka gets the mic and she says something in Japanese.Bayley asks Asuka if she wants a triple threat match at Fastlane, you’ve got it! Iyo wants to know what is Bayley thinking. Iyo says Asuka didn’t say that.

– John Cena walks in the back with a contract and we go to commercial.

– We are back and The Judgment Day will be on Smackdown next week.  Dragon Lee faces Austin Theory.

In the Arena:

John Cena makes his way to the ring.

John says last week he said he came back to compete and he wanted a match.  The Bloodline didn’t take too kindly to that.  They left him knocked out.  They also left him with the contract.  It is what he asked for.  A signed contract against The Bloodline at Fastlane.   John says there is a big problem with this because he doesn’t have a partner.  Tonight is very important because he has a choice.  He says he can rip up this contract like it never happened.  Or he can stand and fight.

John asks Sacramento what choice the man who wears Never Give Up over his heart is going to make.  John says he will honor this contract.  He says if he doesn’t find a partner by Fastlane, he will fight The Bloodline in a handicap match.

Jimmy Uso’s music plays and he comes to the ring followed by Solo Sikoa and Paul Heyman.

Jimmy says look who finally showed up.  He says John is talking about Fastlane, but did John see what happened in the back.  If you team up with John Cena, you are going to get taken out by The Bloodline.  Jimmy tells John he’s not making it to Fastlane.

John with an elbow to knock Jimmy off the apron.

Solo stands on the apron and John invites him into the ring.

Solo misses a clothesline and Cena gets Solo up but Jimmy kicks Cena and hits a running hip into the corner.  Solo with a running hip as well.  Jimmy Irish whips Solo into John in the corner.

Jimmy and Solo rearrange the announce table and they put John on the table.  Jimmy gets on the steps but Solo tells Jimmy it is his turn.

Solo goes up top but . . .

LA Knight’s music interrupts and he comes to the ring and he connects with a forearm to Solo and a clothesline to Jimmy.  Knight kicks Jimmy and then he punches Solo.  Solo misses a splash into the corner and Knight with a neck breaker.  Knight with a power slam to Jimmy.  Knight with the YEAHple’s Elbow to Jimmy.  Cena sends Solo to the floor. Knight sends Jimmy to the floor.

Knight picks up the contract and he signs it.

We go to credits.
