More On The Physical Altercation Between CM Punk And Jack Perry

More On The Physical Altercation Between CM Punk And Jack Perry – As previously mentioned, CM Punk found himself once again involved in a backstage incident during the AEW All In event held in London, England.

During the FTW Title match featuring HOOK, a significant moment occurred when Perry and HOOK landed on the windshield of a limousine. Perry took the opportunity to address the camera, highlighting the authenticity of the glass and humorously remarking, “cry me a river.” This comment alluded to a past incident between Perry and Punk, where Punk had confronted Perry over his desire to use real glass for a segment.

Following this, a physical altercation unfolded backstage between Perry and Punk, just moments before Punk’s scheduled match against Samoa Joe. This confrontation took place right before Punk’s entrance into the ring.

According to sources, the situation escalated to the point where Punk allegedly applied a chokehold to Jack Perry. Perry was subsequently escorted out of the venue, while Punk remained present.

Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez delved into this situation while discussing it on Wrestling Observer Radio.

Alvarez: “There was a physical altercation of some sort, either between CM Punk and Jack Perry.”

Meltzer: “Either a punch or a choke.”

Alvarez: “Whether it’s a whole bunch of stories. So I don’t even want to….There was some sort of physical altercation and it was broken up. CM Punk went to the ring for his match [with Samoa Joe] and did you know if you watched CM Punk as he was coming down to the ring, he looked like a guy that was irritated and that’s because something had just happened and he ended up doing the match with Samoa Joe. He ends up winning the match. He goes to the backstage area immediately. There’s security there and security escorts CM Punk went back to his dressing room. Jack Perry was then told to leave. He was removed from the building. CM Punk stayed in his dressing room with security for I’m not sure how long, but eventually, security came and removed him from the building. And then at the post-show press conference, Tony Khan basically started the press conference and said, ‘I’m not going to talk about this any more detail, but there was an altercation tonight, and we are doing an investigation to find out exactly what happened. And that’s all I’m going to say about it.’ So, there was obviously a great deal of unhappiness. There are CM Punk supporters, and obviously, there are a lot of people who are big fans of Jack Perry. And depending on who you’re friends with, you were very upset for one reason or another. There were a lot of people that, you know, they had to wrestle tonight, and they knew all about this and what had happened. And I don’t know if it affected their performance, but obviously, they had to go out there with this knowledge, and there were a lot of people upset about it.”

Meltzer: “So where this goes, we don’t know. There’s an investigation ongoing, and I guess we’ll find out what happens here.”

As noted, Tony Khan addressed the issue during the AEW All In media scrum. Khan confirmed the occurrence of an incident but refrained from disclosing its details or the individuals involved. He stated that the matter is under investigation and that he couldn’t provide further information at that moment.
