Cody Rhodes Beats Brock Lesnar At WWE SummerSlam – Lesnar Shows Respect – The trilogy between Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar concluded at tonight’s WWE SummerSlam, in one of the longest match in Lesnar’s career.
Cody would have a flurry early on but Brock would then turn it around, dominating the matchup in the early stages of the match with suplex after suplex. He would then begin routinely throwing Rhodes out of the ring, telling him to stay down and take the count out loss. But he would continue to fight back, even after an F5 on the outside.
Cody would continue to fight on despite the damage, with Brock F5ing Cody through the announce table and Rhodes still got back in the ring. However, Cody would fight back, hitting multiple Cody Cutters on Lesnar.
Brock would lock in the Kimura lock however, cinching in the submission. Cody would reach the ropes however, and would then push Brock into an exposed turnbuckle to the chest and locking in a Kimura of his own, Brock however would power out of it. Shortly after, Cody Rhodes would hit a trio of Cross Rhodes on Lesnar, pinning The Beast 1-2-3.
After the match, Cody and Brock would shake hands, hug and Brock would raise Cody’s hand to a huge ovation from the crowd.
