Current Plans And Speculation On 2023 WWE SummerSlam – Following Saturday’s WWE Money In The Bank, the main event for WWE SummerSlam has become apparent.
For those who have been following the ongoing storylines, it seems that several other matches have also been established for the biggest show of the summer.
Dave Meltzer recently confirmed on Wrestling Observer Radio that the top 6 matches will feature prominent names such as Roman Reigns, Ronda Rousey, Logan Paul, and Cody Rhodes.
Furthermore, Meltzer revealed that Logan Paul is slated to have an “in-ring showcase” at SummerSlam. However, the identity of his opponent remains uncertain. Speculation arose that LA Knight could potentially fill that role, but Meltzer later clarified that Knight is not currently planned to be Paul’s opponent.
There are still available slots on the card, which could potentially be filled by World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, possibly Edge, and the World Tag Team Champions Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.
Based on current storylines, here are the matches planned for 2023 WWE SummerSlam on August 5th, at Detroit’s Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan
- Roman Reigns defending the Undisputed Universal Championship against Jey Uso
- Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar
- Trish Stratus vs. Becky Lynch
- Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Bianca Belair for the WWE Women’s Championship
- GUNTHER vs. Drew McIntyre for the Intercontinental Championship
