NXT Battleground Results 2023 – The 2023 WWE NXT Battleground Premium Live Event opens with a video package looking at WWE history in Lowell, Massachusetts. We cut to an intro video. We’re now live from the break and Vic Joseph welcomes us to the Tsongas Center in Lowell. He’s joined by WWE Hall of Famer Booker T.
Triple Threat for the NXT North American Title: Joe Gacy vs. Tyler Bate vs. Wes Lee (c)
We go right to the ring and out comes NXT North American Champion Wes Lee. Tyler Bate is out next and he’s not happy with Lee. Joe Gacy is out with Tyler Bate.
Wes with a rollup on Gacy for a near fall. Bate gets a near fall on Lee and then Gacy gets a near fall on Bate. Bate has some words for Lee and Lee misses a clothesline on Gaccy but Bate does not join in a double team. Gacy has words for Lee and Bate and Bate with a punch to Gacy and Lee sends Gacy ovver the top rope to the floor. Gacy gets on the apron and then he lets Lee and Bate do their thing. Lee and Bate go to the floor and they connect with punches and European uppercutes. Lee and Bate pull each other to the floor and the push each other and exchange punches until Gacy hits a suicide dive onto both men. Gacy sends Bate into the ring and kicks Lee. Gacy catches Bate on a cross body and Gacy with a slam for a near fall. Gacy sends Lee back to the floor.
Bate with a waist lock and Gacy with elbows. Gacy with a standing switch. Lee with a sunset flip to Gacy and it sends Bate over as Lee gets a near fall on Gacy. Lee with a double stomp to Gacy and a rana to Bate for a near fall. Lee with punches and kicks to Bate. Bate with a knee lift in the corner. Gacy with a forearm to Bate but Bate with an exploder. Bate catches Lee and hits an exploder and a shooting star press for a near fall. Bate with a kick and punch to Gacy and he gets Gacy up for an airplane spin. Bate with a leg sweep to Lee and he gives Lee a giant swing while Bate continues to give Gacy an airplane spin. Bate drops Gacy onto Lee. Bate with a rebound clothesline on Gacy for a near fall when Lee breaks it up with a punch.
Bate and Lee exchange punches and uppercuts. Lee with a series of kicks and a rolling elbow. Bate with a back body drop to Lee and Gacy catches him for a power bomb. Gacy tosses Lee into Bate. Bate with a knee lift to Gacy in the corner. Gacy catches Bate off the turnbuckles and hits a reverse DDT on Bate while hitting a uranage on Lee. Gacy with Rings of Saturn. Bate kicks Gacy but Gacy holds on to the submission. Bate kicks and punches Gacy to get Gacy to release the hold. Bate misses a shooting star press on Gacy and Gacy with the Rings of Saturn but Lee breaks up the hold. Everyone gets back to their feet and Lee with punches to Gacy and kicks and chops to Bate. Gacy punches Lee and then Bate sets for a rebound clothesline and Gacy sets for the handspring clothesline on Lee but Lee moves and they clothesline each other. Lee with a double Cardiac kick but he can only get near falls on Gacy and Bate.
Lee with an uppercut to Gacy and then to Bate in the corner. Bate grabs Lee but Lee with a back elbow and an enzuigiri. Gacy punches Lee. Lee grabs Gacy and applies a sleeper and gets on Gacy’s back. Gacy runs into the corner and hits a cannonball into the turnbuckles. Gacy gets a near fall when Bate hits a swanton to break up the cover. Bate with Tyler Driver on Gacy but Lee with Meteora to break up the cover. Lee sends Bate to the apron and Gacy with a forearm to knock Bate off the apron. Gacy kicks Lee from the turnbuckles. Lee charges at Gacy and hits a flip dive over the turnbuckles onto Bate. Gacy with a uranage and Gacy sets for the handspring clothesline but Lee with a Cardiac Kick for the three count.
Winner: Wes Lee
After the match, Lee celebrates to a standing ovation. We go to replays. Lee continues his celebration as we go to break.

NXT Heritage Cup Title Match
Dragon Lee vs. Noam Dar (c)
Match held under British Rounds Rules
We go back to the ring and out comes Dragon Lee. Nathan Frazer is with him to be in his corner. NXT Heritage Cup Champion Noam Dar is out next. He poses in the ring with the Cup as Lee looks on.
Round One
Lee with a kick to the shin and then they lock up. Dar with a take down and he tries for a front face lock but Lee avoids it. Dar with a body scissors and he rakes the eyes. Lee gets to his feet but Dar takes him back to the mat with a wrist lock. Dar with an arm bar. Dar holds on to the wrist lock and then starts to work on the arm. Dar works on the shoulder and holds on to the wrist lock. Lee with a reversal.
Dar with a single leg take down into a stap over toe hold and he tries for a standing figure four but Lee kicks Dar away. Lee with a head scissors. Dar with a headstand and he escapes and goes for a side head lock. Dar misses a punch when he blocks a sunset flip. Dar avoids a back heel kick from Lee. Lee punches Dar and Dar goes to the floor. Lee with a drop kick to send Dar to the floor as the round ends.
Oro Mensah comes to the ring to be Dar’s second.
Round Two
Lee with a waist lock and Dar with an elbow but Lee with elbows. Lee with back elbows and he tries for a slam but Dar escapes. Lee with a head scissors take down. Lee with a running kick into the corner followed by a leg sweep from the apron. Lee with a slingshot kick to the head. Lee gets a near fall. Dar with a victory roll for a near fall. Dar misses a round kick but hits a spinning back elbow and a rollup for the three count.
Noam Dar: 1 Fall
Dragon Lee: 0 Falls
Round Three
Dar goes to the floor as the round starts and Lee follows. Lee with a double leg take down and punches. Dar goes for an arm bar submission but Lee kicks Dar to escape. Lee goes to the turnbuckles and Dar kicks Lee in the knee and Dar gets a near fall. Dar goes to the turnbuckles and he connects with elbows to the head. Dar with knees to Lee but Lee with a rollup for a near fall.
Lee with a knee and a thrust kick. Dar goes to the apron and Lee with a leaping head scissors to send Dar off the apron. Lee with a suicide dive. Lee sends Dar back into the ring. Lee with a running kick to the head for a near fall. Lee kicks Dar in the head a few times and follows with punches. Lee with punches as the round ends.
After the round ends, Dar with a spinning back elbow to Lee.
Round Four
Dar misses an elbow in the corner when Lee moves. Dar with a Yakuza kick and he sets for a Northern Lariat and he hits it and gets a near fall. Dar sets for the Nova Roller but Lee falls to the mat. Dar sets for a suplex and Lee with an inside cradle for a near fall. Dar with a cross arm breaker but Lee tries to block it. Lee with a rollup for a near fall. Lee with a thrust kicck and a double leg take down. Lee with a Cloverleaf.
Dar reaches for the ropes and Mensah pushes the ropes for Dar to get to it. Frazer confronts Mensah and Oro sends Frazer into the ring steps. Dar with a rollup for a near fall. Lee with a reverse suplex for a three count.
Noam Dar: 1 Fall
Dragon Lee: 1 Fall
After the fall, Frazer attacks Mensah and they are sent to the back.
Round Five
Both men exchange forearms. Lee misses an enzuigiri and Dar holds on to the leg and hits a dragon screw and turns it into an ankle lock. Lee goes for the leaping head scissors over the top rope but Lee hits the apron. Dar with a back elbow for a near fall. Dar kicks Lee in the head and chest.
Lee blocks a kick and Dar with an elbow. Lee with a snap German suplex and a jumping knee to the head. Lee with Last Ride for a near fall.
Jakara Jackson comes into the ring and distracts the referee. Lash Legend ccomes through the crowd and hits Lee in the back with the bucket. Dar with Nova Roller for the three count.
Winner: Noam Dar
After the match, Lash and Jackson hit the ring to celebrate with Dar. Mensah comes back to join them. Dar poses in the corner with the Cup as we go to replays. Dar and his new crew pose together.
Last Man Standing Match
Dijak vs. Ilja Dragunov
We go back to the ring and out comes Dijak as Alicia Taylor does the ring introductions. Dijak stops at his wife and kids to tell them he doesn’t want to see what is going to happen. The music hits and out next comes Ilja Dragunov to a pop.
Ilja with punches and Dijak backs Ilja into the corner and connects with punches and forearms. Ilja with chops and Dijak chops back and hits a clothesline. Dijak gets Ilja up for Feast Your Eyes but Ilja gets to his feet and Ilja goes for a German suplex but Dijak with elbows. DIjak kicks Ilja to the floor when Ilja tries to turn in the ropes for Konstantin Special. DIjak puts the top of the ring steps in the ring.
Ilja kicks Dijak and he connects with forearms and an enzuigiri. Ilja sends Dijak into the announce table and follows with a kick. Ilja pushes the steps closer to Dijak and Ilja comes off the ring steps for the diving forearm but Dijak gets his boot up to stop Ilja. Dijak with a suplex throw onto the ring steps. Dijak goes under the ring and he pulls out a table. Ilja charges at Dijak and goes through the table. Ilja starts to bleed from the jaw.
Dijak beats the referee’s count and he gets back in the ring. Ilja with chops in the ring and Dijak grabs Ilja by the throat but Ilja with an enzuigiri. Ilja with a waist lock and he tries for a German suplex. Dijak grabs the ropes and Ilja goes for a German suplex and since Dijak was holding on to the ropes, Ilja lands on the ring steps. Dijak grabs Ilja but Ilja counters with a DDT onto the ring steps in the ring. Ilja puts Dijak’s head against the turnbuckles and he face washes him. Ilja grabs the ring steps and he throws them at Dijak in the corner.
Ilja goes to the other side of the ring for a Coast to Coast into the ring steps. The referee starts his count. Both men beat the ten count and Ilja with a series of chops. Dijak with a chop and kick but Ilja returns to the chops. Ilja winds up and connects with a chop but both men are down. Ilja with more chops and then he hits a chop as he falls to the mat. The referee starts his count. Ilja with a waist lock and a German suplex that sends Dijak face first to the mat but Dijak gets back to his feet. Dijak grabs Ilja by the throat and Ilja with punches. Dijak sends Ilja to the apron and Ilja with chops but Dijak choke slams Ilja onto the apron. Ilja gets to the apron to stay on his feet at nine. Dijak pulls Ilja into the ring and gets Ilja up for Feast Your Eyes and he connects. Ilja falls into the corner and he starts to bleed from the jaw again.
Dijak goes to the floor and he goes under the ring for a kendo stick. Dijak gets back into the ring and he asks Ilja if he likes pain and if he likes this as he hits Ilja in the chest with the kendo stick. Dijak hits Ilja in the ribs a second time. Dijak with a third shot to the ribs and Ilja writhes in pain in the corner. Dijak tells Ilja to stay down. He shows Ilja his blood on the kendo stick and he tells Ilja not to make him do this. Dijak hits Ilja many more times with the kendo stick. Dijak goes back under the ring and he gets a chair. Dijak puts the chair against Ilja’s throat and Ilja slaps Dijak. Dijak hits Ilja in the ribs and then the back with the chair. Ilja with Torpedo Moscow to stop Dijak. Ilja with a leaping forearm to Dijak on the mat.
Ilja gets on the ring steps that are in the ring and hits a leaping forearm to the back of Dijak’s head and Dijak hits the chair. Ilja beats the count to get back to his feet, but Dijak is not as lucky.
Winner: Ilja Dragunov
– Duke Hudson is with his Chase U students. He yells at a guy named Ricky. Duke says he thought the job would be great but it sucks, it’s taking his will to live. He brought Drew Gulak and Charlie Dempsey to teach skills to the students. They end up showing a Hail match and insulting her. She storms out crying. Duke yells at Dempsey and Gulak but they say there’s no hiding from the truth and no crying in wrestling. Duke says they can’t talk to any one from Chase U like that.
– We go to McKenzie with Noam Dar and his entourage. Dar says this is history. They defended the Heritage Cup on American soil for the first time. Dar says he is at the top but now they are at the top.
– The Great American Bash will be on July 30th from Cedar Park, Texas.
NXT Tag Team Titles Match
The Creed Brothers vs. Gallus (c)
Julius and Wolfgang start thigns and Julius with a take down but Wolfgang with an uppercut. Mark tags in and he takes Julius to the mat with a front face lock. Julius with a wrist lock and take down. Julius with an arm bar and Brutus tags in . Brutus with an arm bar. Mark with an arm bar. Wolfgang gets in the ring and so does Julius. The referee tries to gain control of things and Julius punches Wolfgang. Brutus with a fireman’s carry into an arm bar on Mark. Julius tags in and Brutus and Julius pass Mark with knees to the ribs. Brutus with a belly-to-back suplex and Julius gets a near fall. Julius with an arm drag take down. Mark with an Irish whip and Julius floats over. Julius goes to the floor after making the blind tag. Brutus with a double sledge and then he connects with forearms. Brutus with a side head lock take down.
Wolfgang tags in and drops Brutus on the top rope. Wolfgang with punches and knees. Wolfgang works on the neck. Mark tags in and he kicks Brutus. Mark gets a near fall and then he kicks Brutus. Mark with a forearm. Brutus with a forearm but Mark with a knee to the midsection. Wolfgang tags in and hits a back senton. Wolfgang with a chin lock. Mark tags in and hits a shoulder tackle off the turnbuckles for a near fall. Mark with a hip lock take down. Brutus gets Mark up for an Olympic slam. Wolfgang tags in and gets between Brutus and his corner. Wolfgang with a front face lock and he knocks Julius off the apron. Brutus with a back body drop and Julius tags in and punches Wolfgang.
Julius with over head belly-to-belly suplexes to Mark and Wolfgang. He does it for a second set of suplexes and then a third. Wolfgang with a back elbow to Julius and Julius with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Mark tags in and Julius with another overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Brutus tags in and Julius with a shooting star press and Brutus with a moonsault for a near fall. Julius tags in and he gets Mark on his shoulders. Mark with a victory roll for a near fall. Wolfgang with a punch to Brutus on the turnbuckles. Mark and Wolfgang with a double choke slam but Brutus comes off the turnbuckles with a cannonball. All four men stand off in the center of the ring.
They exchange punches. Julius with a double leg take down. Julius with a jumping knee and a rolling spinebuster. Julius avoids Joe’s interference and Ivy trips Joe. Julius sends Joe to the floor. Ava sends Ivy into the ring post. Gallus hits the running boot and TKO combination for the three count.
Winners: Gallus
– We see the masked woman talking about how she reaked havoc on the NXT Women’s Division and she will reveal herself on Tuesday.
NXT Women’s Title Tournament Finals
Lyra Valkyria vs. Tiffany Stratton
They lock up and go around the ring. Lyra and Tiffany push each other and they lock up again. Lyra with a side head lock take down. Tiffany with a punch and arm wringers. Lyra with a reversal and arm wringer. Tiffany tries to escape the hold but Lyra with a side head lock. Lyra with a crucifix for a near fall. Lyra with a waist lock and Tiffany with a back elbow. Lyra gets a near fall. They lock up and Tiffany with a knee to the midsection and a side head lock. Tiffany with a shoulder tackle. Lyra’s knee gives out on a leap frog. Lyra with a wrist lock and it turns into a test of strength. Lyra with a monkey flip and a satellite arm drag. Tiffany goes to the floor and Lyra tries for a suicide dive but she stops because she couldn’t get the speed to hit the move.
Tiffany goes to the floor again. Lyra goes for the drop kick through the ropes but Tiffany catches Lyra and drops her on the apron. Tiffany sends Lyra’s knee into the ring post. Tiffany sends Lyra into the ring post again. Tiffany breaks the count and goes back to the floor. Tiffany takes off the knee pad and throws it aside. They return to the ring and Tiffany with an atomic drop to the knee. Tiffany with a dragon screw. Tiffany with another atomic drop to the knee and a dragon screw. Tiffany gets a near fall. Tiffany with a step over toe hold and she drops back to the mat. Tiffany with another step over toe hold and she falls back to the mat. Tiffany with a Mutoh Lock. Lyra escapes but Tiffany gets a near fall.
Tiffany kicks Lyra in the ribs. Lyra slaps Tiffany and Tiffany slaps back. Lyra misses an enzuigiri and Tiffany drives the knee into the mat. Tiffany gets a near fall. Tiffany with a stretch muffler. Lyra with a sunset flip for a near fall. Lyra kicks Tiffany face first into the turnbuckles. Lyra with a rollup for a near fall. Lyra with a back elbow and she goes to the turnbuckles and hits a missile drop kick. Lyra with European uppercuts while Tiffany connects with forearms. Lyra with a series of kicks. Lyra with a Northern Lights suplex and she rolls through and hits a second one. Lyra rolls through to try for a third one but Tiffany with a kick to the knee. Lyra with a drop kick and Tiffany rolls to the floor.
Lyra with a drop kick through the ropes and a cross body off the apron. Lyra goes up top and hits a cross body but Tiffany holds on and rolls through. Tiffany gets Lyra on her shoulders and Lyra with a crucifix bomb for a near fall. Lyra goes to the turnbuckles but Tiffany stops her and Lyra hangs in the turnbuckles. Tiffany with a kick and a moonsault for a near fall. Tiffany gets Lyra on her shoulders but Lyra with elbows. Tiffany with a back heel kick into the knee. Tiffany goes for a seated splash but Lyra counters into a rollup for a near fall. Tiffany with a kick for a near fall. Tiffany with a step over toe hold and she rolls through and sends Lyra into the mat. Lyra catches Tiffany on a handspring back elbow and hits a German suplex. Lyra’s knee gives out on the spinning heel kick. Tiffany with a Finlay Slam and she misses the Prettiest Moonsault Ever. Lyra with a spinning back heel kick but Tiffany gets her foot on the rope to stop the count.
Lyra pulls Tiffany into the corner and she goes up top. Tiffany stops Lyra and Lyra with forearms to the back. Lyra sets for a sunset flip power bomb but Tiffany holds on to the ropes. Tiffany with a rana and she gets Lyra up for the Finlay Slam and the Prettiest Moonsault Ever for the three count.

NXT Title Match
Bron Breakker vs. Carmelo Hayes (c)
Hayes with a drop kick to the knee and Bron pushes Hayes away. Hayes with punches and kicks to the leg. Bron with a shoulder tackle. Hayes with a round kick and a jumping bicycle kick that sends Bron to the floor. Hayes with a plancha and he punches Bron. Hayes chops Bron against the ringside barrier. Bron runs Hayes into the apron. Bron with a shoulder and then he catches Hayes on a leap frog and hits a power slam. Bron with shoulders in the corner. Hayes kicks Bron and flips over Bron’s back and follows with a drop kick. Hayes with a splash into the corner. Hayes comes off the turnbuckles but Bron catches Hayes and hits a hip toss. Hayes has a kick blocked from the apron and Bron with a punch. Bron kicks Hayes against the ringside barrier.
Bron sends Hayes into the ringside barrier. Bron sends Hayes back into the ring and Trick takes off his shirt. Hayes with a kick and cutter in the ropes. Hayes with a fadeaway for a near fall. Hayes puts Bron’s leg on the ropes and hits a springboard boot to the leg. Hayes with kicks to the hamstring. Hayes with a single leg crab. Bron kicks Hayes in the ribs to escape. Hayes misses a splash into the corner but hits an arm drag out of the corner. Bron with a clothesline. Bron with a belly-to-belly suplex. Bron with another overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Bron with a waist lock but Hayes holds on to the ropes. Bron with a belly-to-belly suplex and Bron gets a near fall and does some push ups.
Bron kicks Hayes in the back of the head. Hayes with a punch and chop. Bron with a knee and Hayes goes for a sunset flip. Bron picks up Hayes and hits an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Bron with a punch. Hayes punches Bron from the turnbuckles. Bron sets for a superplex and Hayes blocks it. Hayes kicks Bron to the mat. Bron leaps up and hits a Frankensteiner for a near fall. Bron with a clothesline and he holds on for a second one. Hayes avoids a clothesline and Hayes with a kick to the back of the leg. Hayes with chops and a punch. Bron with a German suplex. Bron works on the back to set up for the Steiner Recliner. Bron tries to work on the back but Bron rolls over and gets his knees in the groin. Bron with a kicck and Hayes counters a delayed vertical suplex into a DDT.
Hayes and Bron exchange punches. Hayes with a facebuster and a thrust kick. Hayes with a bicycle kick and a springboard clothesline. Hayes with La Mistica for a near fall. Hayes with a knee to the head and a suplex into a cutter for a near fall. Hayes with a punch and Bron punches back. They go back and forth. Hayes with forearms and Bron with a punch. Bron blocks a bicycle kicck and Bron gets Hayes up but Hayes counters with a Codebreaker. Bron moves out of the way on Nothing But Net. Bron hits the turnbuckles but Bron with a spear for a near fall when Hayes goes for the springboard cross body.
Bron with a gutwrench suplex and a second one. Bron says it is over. Bron goes for the press slam but Hayes counters with an inside cradle for a near fall. Bron with a kick and Hayes with a series of thrust kiccks. Hayes with a springboard DDT. Hayes goes up top and hits Nothing But Net for the three count.
Winner: Carmelo Hayes
Carmelo celebrates as we go to credits.
